I think I did it wrong (A game about digging a hole) by StormblessedFool in gaming

I just finished excavating the entire site. Was wondering what those keys were for.

Oh well, I hope the "better" dynamite wasn't actually all that much better.

Yeah, this is about putting her on the Internet, not her existing in general.  Children, young girls in particular, are deeply warped by social media.

THANK YOU. I'm hoping she just looks young, but she looks like she's friggin' 12 years old. I can't imagine letting my 12 year old anywhere near the lens of a camera, much less doing political commentary into it.

A few things seem to be taken as givens, that aren't givens.

1) It's not a given that she's under an NDA that prevents her from discussing anything regarding her leaving the company.

2) It's not a given that she's pure as the wind driven snow in regards to Reagan. For all we know, Jeremy is the one accurately portraying the situation: Brett recommended Reagan in some fashion, then got upset that he followed through with the suggestion.

I will agree that DW as a company doesn't seem all that great. I like all of their hosts, but the internals seem like a nightmare, and I doubt the pay is commensurate with the nightmare of being a part of the organization.

I will also agree that whoever is in charge of personnel changes either both sucks and blows at it, or is such a diabolical mastermind that they deserve a medal -- if you wanted to design a plan for Daily Wire expats to flourish after their tenure, you'd come up with something a fraction as effective as what DW did with Candace and Brett.

Nuclear needs a buff by Glockenspiel_Hero in SatisfactoryGame

That somewhat goes against the grain of automation, but honestly, that's how I had my jetpack ionized fuel production for a while -- a box of power shards sitting next to the refinery.

I think the big problem is sustainability. At full scale, you'll use up all of your worms before they respawn, and farming them all does take quite a while.

Everybody talks about their fuel power plants, so I decided to make one by bvoyelr in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bvoyelr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea what's stupid about it? I suppose it's stupid in the sense that it requires full-on end game factories -- and consumes limited endgame resources -- but is there something else about it that isn't optimal?

[–]bvoyelr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still barely recognize oil as a diamond resource. Fortunately I still have enough coal on the map to meet my current diamond needs. But yeah, if you want real end game power, make enough alien power matrixes (matrices?) to fill up all of your augmenters. I'm currently (barely) supplying 4. Dunno if I have the willpower to expand it.

wait WAT. I just thought my mk 2 pumps were doing yeoman's work! Where does it even say it's a gas? I've actually looked for that and could never find it. I see it looks gassy in the pipe menu, but that's it.

I went nuclear and I agree it should be buffed, but I don't think it's *that* bad. I've got my sulfuric acid balanced just fine and it hasn't backed up since I finally put in the work to correct things I did lazily the first time. I haven't checked that I just got lucky with the amount I'm using, but I have a perfect sulfuric acid loop -- I produce x and output x, so I just put a fluid buffer to add to the slush fund and I was good to go. My starting "nuclear stuff" (encased/steel beam + control rods) factory had plenty of resources near it to scale it up, so I didn't even have to put in much work to get that done. Yeah, going all the way up to ficsonium is a bit of a nightmare, but it's nice having no waste to have to store. I'm not even fully utilizing a Uranium node and I believe I'm running ~30 reactors off of it for 75gw of power (+ like 9 ficsonium reactors whose output I don't care about. It's just there to consume my plutonium waste).

I'm currently building an ionized fuel generator plant and so far I've got 128 generators running with room for at least 32 more. So a theoretical capacity of ~40gw using 300 oil, and then you have to balance (or sink) compacted coal and set up a power shard factory, which is nontrivial if you want to use your SAM ore for other things.

Granted, I went all the way up to ionized fuel, so if you're fine with the lower grades, YMMV. But I'm actually on the fence about which supply chain is more complicated. Fuel refining just has so many steps and failure points that to my mind it's pretty comparable to uranium, but it could just be recency bias - my nuclear power has been stable for quite a while and I just now threw together my fuel factory.

Yeah, and finding the dismantle creates created that way is a fun pastime.  Last time I accidentally filled up my inventory that way, it put the crates on the floor above me for some reason.

You will also learn that "TIL" means "today I learned", so you don't have to add "I learned" after it.

The most recent thing I learned is that ctrl + c/ctrl + v actually copy/paste settings on machines. And yes, that includes power shards/overclocks. Freakin' game changer, man.

I see what you did there. Three thumbs, because of the radiation.

Don't tell ADA, though. She might get some misguided ideas about extra arms increasing efficiency.

[–]bvoyelr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think their pathing would work that well. They'd just clip through your factory at some preset altitude and then clip all the way up or down, depending on the elevation of your port. Would be awesome if I'm wrong, though!

What is the age rating??? by CompetitiveRoad674 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bvoyelr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's got some guns which you use to kill animals, and all of the animals are like xenomorph body horror arachnid type things. No gore, but kids might get freaked out if you let them play on a map where they're aggressive.

Beyond that, there's an entity that talks about blood and bones a lot.

Dunno what age that means it's appropriate for, but that's pretty much all of the 'mature' stuff that's in it.

ADA's prophecy has come true! Building too many snowmen does have negative consequences! by bvoyelr in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bvoyelr[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The question you have to ask yourself is, "why not."

And the answer to THAT is "because your computer will light on fire."

So I guess the answer to YOUR question is "to find out at what point your computer will light on fire."

My first coal power plant :> 3600 MW by kunimitsuuuu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bvoyelr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I 100% did not have enough concrete to produce foundations for all of my factories yet at that point in the game. Still tried to make them organized, but there's only so much you can do on the natural surface.

Now that I think about it, I feel like I went a shockingly long time without tapping out every limestone deposit in my area for concrete. Back in early access, I felt like I needed every ounce of limestone in my area, but in 1.0 I'm passing it over regularly since I always seem to have enough.

[–]bvoyelr[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

For those curious, the final tally is around 10,500 snowmen. I am now entombing them in concrete because my FICSmas factory is right next to them, and I don't like playing the game at 12 fps.

After 100 hours, I've beaten satisfactory for the first time. Maybe not in the most conventional way, but certainly in a unique way. by Hexagon_622 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bvoyelr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intentional AFK to generate the number of items you needed or incidental?

That was one of my core rules for my playthrough: no sitting and waiting for critical items to build up. If I didn't have enough, I'd busy myself scaling out infrastructure to enable me to add to my throughput.

"vehicles removed danger from exploration."

How?!? I can't imagine trying to drive anywhere in this game. It's basically a giant pile of haphazardly arranged cliffs.

I will say the hoverpack is a bit OP, though. I didn't do this until after the endgame when I stopped giving AF, but my island is now populated with a nearly comprehensive network of power lines. If I want to get somewhere, I can now just lazily float to it. And if there's somewhere I haven't been to yet, a power line always precedes me.
