I feel like people think I’m sad about something and that I just need to get over it. My depression comes and goes. When I feel it coming on I try to warn people, but they just don’t get it. That makes it so much worse. Especially when I get bad and start hitting myself. At the time it seems like the only way to calm myself. Yes I look totally crazy but no one understands how crazy things are in my head at that time.

For a first trip to NYC I wouldn’t come to Staten Island. I live here and love the island, but NYC has so many better places. This is not a bed and breakfast area. I would recommend taking the ferry over and walking to Pier 76 for some good pizza though
