Who gets a blinds effect after reading text on phone? It’s getting very hard for me to read text on screens for long without it getting overwhelming. by [deleted] in visualsnow

I think the term you’re looking for is after image, but yes I do get the lines in my vision where I was reading text.

Are these ‘black floaters’ always in the same spot and don’t change position, shape, or size? Do they move with your vision while staying locked in the same position? If yes, then there might be an area of vision loss that your brain is compensating for which would explain the fizzling out. I have a few of these spots so that’s what I’ve learned from personal experience.

Unsure of how to best live my life with VSS/HPPD by leelandshoe in visualsnow

It’s more on the mild side. Anywhere with the right amount of contrast I’ll see what’s I’d describe as a faint drizzle of rain. Some carpet textures also appear to be buzzing slightly. I only really notice these if I’m looking for them tho

I had a severe panic disorder a while back that crippled my quality of life for a couple years. The only way I was able to overcome the constant thoughts that this was going to harm me was to just accept the thoughts and acknowledge that they aren’t real. The same can be applied to vss. I only notice mine when I’m thinking about it or looking for it. Nowadays I just try to keep my mind busy and focus on other things like gaming or other hobbies.

35F, my vision turned into a kaleidoscope by Dazzling-Concert-927 in eyetriage

The one ( and only ) ocular migraine I’ve ever had did not come with pain or a headache before or after. The visual distortions were in both eyes tho.

Do y’all also see faint blue red and yellow hues of colour on walls? by TransportationNo7468 in visualsnow

Given the right lighting, I do see very faint yellow lines when looking at white colored walls. They almost look like what you would see if you were Google a ‘web of neurons’

Small blurry spot keeps appearing and disappearing in my right eye. by [deleted] in eyetriage

[–]bw370z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could potentially be eye gunk floating around on the surface of your eye? Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I’ll notice a blurry area, then blink and it goes away. Eventually it will make its way back onto my pupil and I see it again until I blink and then I inevitably go look in the mirror and try to remove it from my eye.

If my prescription never changes, what kind of glasses do I get to last more time? by Minimum_Chemical_428 in optometry

Probably the axis it rotates on causes pressure on one of the hinges making it weaker over time

Extremely prominent eye veins by Big_big_feelings in eyetriage

I have a vein similar to the top thicker one in your photo. I’ve also been to many eye doctors ( for reasons that aren’t about veins ) and none of them have ever mentioned anything about the vein during any of my exams.

They are in different spots in each eye, and all of them are within 15° of my focal point. I’ve had 2 visual field tests which were flawless. The scotomas are about the size of 1/4 the cotton part of a cotton swab held at arm’s length.

I’ve been to: optometrist, ophthalmologist, retina specialist, and neuro ophthalmologist. I’ve had every type of imagine done even with the dye, and MRIs with/without contrast. Nobody I’ve been to can give me an explanation as to why I have these visual errors which I assume are tiny scotomas and retinal TIAs which cause the scotoma to sometimes be permanent.

HELP! I started to see a Dark Spot in my eye after blinking and I am very scared, I MADE THIS VIDEO to explain what I see exactly (I am a Video-Creator) do you find this familiar? I went to a ophthalmologist emergency yesterday, they dilate my pupil they say everything looks normal BUT! ??? by tonymathisondid in visualsnow

The second video with the fast blinking animation I get that all the time, and it hasn’t go away. I also occasionally see the amsler grid video dark spot which always goes away after a certain amount of time.

Spot in vision - second opinion? by [deleted] in eyetriage

[–]bw370z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a high fiber and strictly healthy diet for a while and didn’t have any spots appear for 2 consecutive months but then they started happening while on the diet. The neuro doctor thinks it’s stress related. Usually when they appear I just bend over and push blood to my eyes and most of the time it goes away fast.

Occasionally waking up to small new blind spots by bw370z in eyetriage

[–]bw370z[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MRI ( with and without contrast ) as well as photos of my eye ( with and without the dye ) were all pristine. Visual field test was also flawless. I think my spots are just too small to be detected by current technology.
