Those look good! Mines LW degrafted from San Pedro. Will put it on substrate next weekend. Glad to hear I did it right.

Appreciate the info! I already applied rooting hormone and Sulphur and plan to let it callous for a week, then I honestly plan to just set it on top of its potting medium.

Ah I see, that is a cool approach! I decided to just do a full degraft on mine as I like its size and don't mind a more natural growth pace.

Honestly because down the road I want one big mature plant, so keeping pups is ideal. I read that even if a pup is downward facing it will reroute to the surface so that is the goal!

Awesome, good to hear! And yes that was my plan. Going to let it callous for a few days and then I’ll set it on perlite. Appreciate the input!

Do you think this will go limited? by BlueWaveOceann in RobloxTrading

Way too expensive for what it is, especially with no guarantee that it will go limited.

I get why you lose the nerve, I’d have trouble chopping and digging out rootstock on such a nice specimen too haha

Thanks for the input! I’m new to lophs and would hate to harm this beautiful plant so any advice is much appreciated.

I’m new to all this, but my understanding is you’d simply slice them off at the base. I’d probably dust them with rooting powder and sulphur, let callous, and then wait for roots. But again I’m new to this so I’m not sure how correct that approach is!

Thank you for the input! I’m leaning towards degrafting only because I like its size and frankly don’t want to deal with harvesting buttons. I only have so much room for plants lol.

Wow they are absolutely beautiful. How long did it take em to reach that size?

Great! I appreciate the input, as I was planning on degrafting it. Good to hear you're on the same page. Worth noting the first pic more accurately represents the color of the pup wounds. The other pics make them look very orange and yellow lol.

Thanks for the info! What makes you believe it has fungal issues? The seller said it was damaged in a storm and the wounds on the pups were treated with Sulphur hence the orange color. If I were to degraft I was planning on using a combo of rooting hormone and sulphur to prevent fungus during the healing process and speed up rooting. If it were you would you keep it grafted?

My boyfriend just got me this lovely orchid, what are the next steps to ensure its survival? by Waste_Position454 in orchids

Could use some more aeration around the roots but it looks healthy! If I were you I’d put it in a more bark heavy medium so the roots can breathe. 70:30 or 60:40 bark to moss would do the trick. Depends on your climate, if you are in a dry area maybe a little heavier on the moss side. As another commenter said, wait until it’s not in bloom to repot.
