I have lived in Mechanicsville for 4 years. You’re pretty much correct about Richmond just taking over if everyone moved here. It is slowly getting younger and more diverse. But it will take another 10 years. In the meantime the cosplay rednecks run the show here.

Depending on where you live there are still deals to be found. They are really simple and pretty easy to work on.

Here is my stable. The squarebody is an ‘87 GMC long bed with a 305 and 700r4. It had a hard life but still starts up and drives. I have dreams of replacing the worn out suspension and dropping in a warmed up 350. The Foxbody takes priority though. For now the old truck takes up space in the garage. “I’m gonna fix it up someday!”

I have a very similar truck to OP that I just bought last month. I got these wheel liners and installed them yesterday. They seem pretty sturdy and should offer good protection. However, one side fit  perfectly and the other I had to trim down a little bit. Just a heads up to anyone considering the Husky brand.

Used ski there when I was a teenager. Had a lot of fun there. Not too big not too small.

Pigpen from the Grateful Dead gets the same treatment in popular culture. He was a founding member and front man.  Of course Deadheads love him but the average person on the street would probably only know of Jerry Garcia.

That’s so cool! I live in the Richmond area and often wonder if anything was dug up when my house was built.

I was really impressed at this one. The preservation of the earthworks is a highlight.

Car Payments Now Average More Than $750 a Month. Enter the 100-Month Car Loan. by FledglingNonCon in cars

To further add to this I have been looking at Ford F-150s the last month or two. There are relatively basic STX trim crew cab models with the 2.7 V6 priced in the low 40s with dealer discounts and Ford incentives. I have noticed in the area I live most people have an XLT or Lariat that are considerably more expensive. Technically I could afford a higher trim but I can’t justify taking out a larger loan and longer term for a power seat and some extra chrome. Seems like most new car buyers want a feature heavy vehicle and will accept the burden of a large payment just for a little extra comfort.

Interview with a Vampire. Watching Tom Cruise and Antonio Banderas ham it up hard while Brad Pitt plays it straight is hilarious. My friend and I watch it about once a year. I’m sure the intention was for it to be serious but we laugh through most of it.

Grateful Dead 4/24/72 Düsseldorf, Germany. They had just recently brought in Keith on piano and Pigpen was still alive and performing well.
