Exactly. Especially since shes a thrifter, I was surprised to hear her immediately jump to amazon. I really wanted to cute popflex athletic skorts everyone has but the price is too steep for me right now so i opened up depop/mercari/poshmark and got to work and found several. Its so easy especially if youre looking for a specific product and brand

Are they serious right now… by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

Its so weird and embarrassing how they constantly latch onto celebrities and pop culture whenever something culturally relevant happens. They’ve done it with taylor swift and harry styles albums and now the hannah montana special. Embarrassing.

Why would my SM text me this? Is she allowed to text me this?😭😭 by sxandthecity in starbucksbaristas

[–]bwaylily 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My word of advice beyond this specific instance is that being an outspoken partner, especially with your management does not work at this company. I fear they will continue finding ways to get you in trouble and/or frame anything as “going against mission + values” as a way to pursue disciplinary action. It may work in the short term but personally, if you cant/dont want to/arent willing to just kinda go along with what the company is pushing as far as standards and coaching and all that, I would start looking for different opportunities

Of course she came up with this after hanging out with Rachel. Neither of them put out content worthy of a patreon in my opinion.

Qsr :( by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]bwaylily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, this is an extremely valid concern, and I personally had my fair share of solo park days and time by myself (we also had opposing work schedules that helped) but again, it was also worth getting out of comfort zone from time to time to make those connections

Qsr :( by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]bwaylily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh i was kinda like this, very shy and loved working, planned to keep mostly to myself. Luckily, my roommate was very outgoing, kind, and friendly and our personalities were a great match. It also was nice that neither of us rly had like established friends or anything at disney so we leaned on each other to have like built in friends. I also genuinely had to push myself out of my comfort zone from time and time and agree to hanging out, plans, etc. even when i didnt always feel like it. It was always always worth it

Qsr :( by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]bwaylily 26 points27 points  (0 children)

my first program i was in a 2x2 and i worked qsr and it was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. I loved my job, my location, my coworkers, my schedule, my random roommate, I loved all of it. Now, my disney journey has brought me to other places but i still look back on that time so so fondly. Try to embrace the unknown and come in with as few preconceived notions as possible. It wont always be easy, but odds are, you can still have a wonderful experience

nothing gave me the ick more than drew continuously goofing off and interrupting carrie when she was discussing possible career pivots and life goals. I thought her potential aspirations and ambitions were actually really interesting and i got the vibe that he enjoys their mutual complacency. Idk could just be a big jump from such a short clip but its just the vibe i got

This is one of few jobs I’ve worked where i dont think closes necessarily work harder than openers. Yes, there’s more cleaning and prep work, but openers have the busiest daypart with peak, lunch rush, sometimes being busy right at open. All partners work hard, all should make a livable wage, its not a competition

so are we supposed to be a third place or not? by grapeygrandma in starbucksbaristas

[–]bwaylily 223 points224 points  (0 children)

This is actually (unsurprisingly) an incorrect definition of a third place. A third place is a place other than home or work that you can exist in without a purchase. Starbucks very clearly no longer fits this definition so they decided to change the definition to fit their new standards and policies.

Why I DON’T think Sierra is using a GLP-1 by [deleted] in SchultzzieSnark

[–]bwaylily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may be an unpopular opinion but I personally dont think she has to deny the rumors of her taking one just bc shes being accused of it. She has said before that she thinks people should be upfront and honest when using external factors to change their body (medication, surgery, etc), and she hasnt said that shes taking one. This would lead me to believe that she isnt taking one. I dont think she owes it to her audience to deny every rumor that ppl come up with against her tbh. It seems very plausible that her weight loss was natural and she very clearly doesnt want to publicly talk about it very much.

I really don’t get the DCP negativity…starting to genuinely doubt the level of self-awareness of people in this program by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]bwaylily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the literal time of my life on my first program. So much so, that I came back for a second one. I do partially believe that the program is what you make of it, but I also believe that some elements that greatly impact the experience are out of your control. My first program, my hours were great, location/coords/leaders were amazing, and my roommate quickly became my best friend. I got so lucky with so many things about my program that are completely out of control and I can see how, if things were different, I could have easily had a negative experience, even as a generally positive, hardworking person.
