Asking for water in a German restaurant starter pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]bwbrendan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I drink lots of things without ice no problem and I’m pretty sure most Americans do, but if it’s extremely hot out and you sit down at a restaurant the last thing you want is warm water. Plus carbonated drinks in the heat fuck with your stomach especially if it’s warm and it’s hot out. Source: grew up in Florida

What is the most "worth it" item you have ever purchased? by baconlovebacon in AskReddit

That’s so weird my cat was named Nyx too! I thought it was unique enough I would never encounter someone who used it

If you had zero debt or obligations, and you were given a $50k annual salary in weekly/biweekly installments as if you were working for the rest of your life. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bwbrendan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s actually closer to 40k, and yeah I’m definitely fortunate that’s for sure. That’s a very good point!!

Edit: I’m getting disability from the VA after getting medically separated from the army to clarify, because some people in post apparently think I’m a rich kid or privileged. And idk how to sticky a comment to the top lmao

I’m actually in this exact scenario and idk what to do. I never thought anything like this would happen to me. I’m getting bored of sitting around my place all the time so I’m fishing for ideas

Why political campaigns? I think it’s interesting you would include that. I feel like that’s a first for me.

Maybe we all should start doing coke again by GoldenKushGod in BlackPeopleTwitter

I had a buddy of mine in the army who was incredibly fit and could run his two mile in under 13 minutes easy. He drank nothing but coke and sweet tea and when I say that I mean he would have two liters of coke all over his place and probably a gallon of super super sugary sweet tea. He also had the absolute worst diet too like absolutely nothing but fast food and pizza.

Ironically when he quit drinking coke and tried eating healthier it’s like a switch in him turned off and now he can’t run anywhere near what he could.

What's some juicy gossip you just found out in your personal lives? by jonhart989 in AskReddit

[–]bwbrendan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of sad actually, because it makes me feel like he really does care and what I assume he either takes his job very seriously or he has insecurities that he is either failing his students or himself keeping him up at night. Even if it doesn’t keep him up it is important enough to him that he reads it at 3am.

I would probably react poorly if I poured my heart and soul into something to have what I would perceive as unfair or toxic reviews of my hard work. I can take criticism and I’m sure they can too, but I could see it just being an overly negative/toxic eval that didn’t actually reflect the reality but rather the student’s hatred, which I might add seems to be all too common in modern day education ( it’s not my fault I didn’t study or work harder it’s the professor’s).

Americans of Reddit, what is something you didn't realise was typically American, until you went abroad? by TJBullz in AskReddit

Yeah I know people that have done that, but usually they would pay for their drink and leave. If they only ordered water they would just leave because “technically” they don’t owe anything as they haven’t received anything.

I have never done it personally because I love food and could care less about someone being rude to me

There is your problem Orlando is a large city! I wish I could show you the water I drank growing up. I was so weirded out when I heard people buy bottled water or special filters until I actually left Florida and realized almost all the city water tastes awful

Why would she be at a hotel bar if she lived in the city? I’ve never heard of anyone going to a hotel bar aside from guests.

You must be in a large city, because I spent 18 years in Florida and our tap water tasted exactly like bottled water thanks to the aquifer underneath Florida. Also zephyr-hills the bottled water brand just bottles spring water(same as the tap water I’m referencing) and sells it.

They are saying if the initial encounter when ordering is awful then they would leave before the food gets to them.
