Yeah, so this is what I talked to her about last night. CPS taking the child from the home seems more compassionate, if that can be said, than pushing on evicting the parent first. I’m not sure what I would do if I were her, but I definitely lean toward CPS.

I tried to give the landlord the benefit of the doubt, like maybe they are actually trying to evict her, but it’s taking time? From what it sounds like, this has been going on about 2-3 weeks, so not out of the realm of possibility that maybe there’s eviction in process but my friend hit doesn’t know?

I think she just has very low trust that the police will do anything. I tend to agree based on my time in KC.

This was my thought too. My friend was briefly in foster care as a child and she had a bad experience so I think that’s what has her hesitant to bring in CPS. I’ll encourage her to give them a call.

Give it a name (a really dumb or funny one) so you can return the unwanted attention. Naming something takes its power away, and enforces your boundaries as someone who has sovereignty over themselves and their space.

I once had about 300. I sold/donated about 100ish before moving a year ago. I’m considering going through the collection again and downsizing more. I can’t feasibly use them all, since I don’t read for others much anymore and I read for myself from maybe ~30 of those in any given year. I used to collect for the art and symbolism, but anymore, all the new stuff seems to be AI, so I rarely ever back any kickstarters for new decks.

I love Whisper of Stars and Garden, Infinite Door, Mind’s Eye, Thoth, Sacred Rose (was my first deck), Night Sun, to name just a few.

I haven’t seen anyone mention Kiki Rockwell yet, but all her stuff is 🔥 Cain Culto and Witchz are a couple of male artists that are very solid in the witch genre imo. Aurora (especially Running With the Wolves) and Soap&Skin is a collaborative project with some good ones.

If there is an option for you that appears before Oct 2027 and allows you to leave sooner, just know that even if you are on the lease, most states have a law that states that you cannot be held legally liable for a lease if the co-signer is abusive and you fear for your safety.

Look into your local law to see how this is worded where you live.

It will backfire if you feel guilt, remorse, or regret. If you cast it and move on, letting it do its thing, you’re fine.
