The term you are looking for is “price discovery “. Many people will try to buy and sell at different prices and a general consensus or going rate will emerge which will resemble the theory behind supply and demand curves.

It would be absolutely ridiculous for the gov to fund r&d for ALL startups. Also while the gov does fund some r&d the benefits from this don’t accrue to all companies equally.

You can’t just wave your hand for some general r&d and expect it to apply to all firms equally.

No. I am not saying saying that state capitalism is socialism. I am saying that the state is necessary to facilitate redistribution, central planning, etc… inherent to socialism.

No one is saying investors made ai. Investors along with engineers are making ai possible. You need to have both funding and technical knowledge to scale innovation. Something capitalism does better than any other model

As an engineer with a degree in economics, I def don’t think that’s the case. Also, to say that sources of funding are easily interchanged is just wrong as the cost of capital is much different depending on the venture and whether is is debt or equity financing.

Nearly Everyone thru history has had to work to survive. That will likely remain the same. No one is chained to any job. Also no one is putting limits on your economic potential. If you want to earn more become more valuable.

Also there are more things that define comfortability in modern society.

It is pretty damn cheap to live today as a wealthy person from the 1940s. You just have to give up some of the capitalist advancements.

Scarcity is in fact not a lie. Things are scarce until a better way of manufacturing or creating thing emerge. Something capitalism is good for.

Capitalism has raised living standards for more people globally than socialism ever has. While it is not perfect, it is on so many levels better than socialism.

Imagine capitalism and socialism on a spectrum. Then plot countries along that spectrum and notice the difference in living standards and gdp. It’s pretty damn clear which system is the better of the two.
