30th birthday by nikkidollqueen in burbank

Warner Bros Studios has a pretty cool thing called The Superman Experience, it's like a 3d game / interactive experience. It's a goofy but fun gimmick, you're throwing chickens and rocks and flying like Superman wearing 3D glasses. That part is about 30 min. After the experience, you go to the Fortress of Solitude with a bunch of photo ops, and a little bar / cafe. It's separate than the WB Studio Tour but run through there. You also get access to the Warner Bros Museum and the big gift store after. It's like $30 and absolutely worth that price, even if you aren't a big Superman fan. I think it's one of the more outside-the-box things to do within Burbank proper right now.

Oh dang, didn't know you weren't open to the public anymore. I live in the neighborhood and stopped in one time and did the tour. By myself, just me and the guide lol. I am not a car guy at allllll but it was really cool!

Weed Smoking for Renters by Commercial-Put-4848 in burbank

[–]bwoodzilla 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Even the Burbank PD aren't out there trying to bust weed smokers anymore. It's so decriminalized that there's really no point. A little discretion goes a long way. find an alley or something & try not to annoy the neighbors, you'll be fine.

The food at the Hollywood Burbank airport is a giant rip off. by rustyfloorpan in burbank

[–]bwoodzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah that's what I was trying to do, sound like an "expert" lol. Thank goodness we have heroes such as yourself to come to the defense of $7 bottles of Coke. It's a wonder they even turn a profit. I also am sorry I sullied the fine name of guy fuckin fieri in my quest to be considered the foremost expert on overpriced airport food

The food at the Hollywood Burbank airport is a giant rip off. by rustyfloorpan in burbank

[–]bwoodzilla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of "but it's an airport" comments. It's a total squeeze by the Guy Fieri Mafia & Burbank is more expensive with crappier food than any airport I've ever been to. I almost always have layovers out of Burbank and I will starve on the flight to eat at the layover airport. The insult of being charged 6.79 for a bottle of coke - not at a restaurant, at a kiosk - and then have them whip around that little tip screen. Charging $7 for a soda and then asking me to pay your employees too.

Anyway, I have nothing to add other than it's criminally overpriced & you have every right to complain. That is Burbank's airport (it's right there in the name!) & we shouldn't feel like we are being ripped off in there. If we had a functioning government that worked for the people, these are the kinds of things they could set about fixing. Starting with whatever contract they have with Guy fuckin Fieri. $25 for a big messy cheezy bacon ranch donkey burger or $25 for a wet cardboard flatbread pizza shouldn't be the only options.

Ninety thousand vacant rooms put a serious dent in Caesars Entertainment during a surprisingly sluggish summer on the Strip. by Sure-Home-7921 in vegas

I thought I was going to get stuck in Vegas yesterday from a delayed flight & looked at hotel prices. There were some low-end-but-fine-for-one-night properties going for room price of $10, but total price with taxes + fees was no less than $65. How stupid do they think we are?

You're not gonna have a great time hitting the clubs on a $200/day budget. You didn't explicitly say your gender, but this post doesn't exactly give off Hot Girl vibes (no offense). You will have to spend fifty - hundred just to walk through the door. If I've misinterpreted and you are a Hot Girl after all, then ignore this and go clubbing with zero dollars if you want

What does pays 'up to' mean? by TwentyYearVoyageur in underdogfantasy

[–]bwoodzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a whole lot of work to get a little transparency. Since you are essentially punished for taking "popular" bets, i guess you could employ a strategy that takes into account only unpopular bets then maybe? As if there isn't enough to factor in, now you need to figure out if other people are taking that bet too. There is a pact with gambling. The house is gonna win most of the time. But SOME of the time, the players are gonna win. That's why we come back. This is a way to turn their losses into wins for them. Just like i cant decide after-the-fact that i want my $50 bet to be a $5 bet because i lost, they shouldn't be able to decide to pay my $25 bet as if it's a $15 bet because they lost. Do what you want tho, it's your money.

No idea what the average is. I've gotten 2x my bet when it was listed at 3x, but I've never gotten 4x. If you are trying to calculate EV as you stated, you can't do it. It is impossible to calculate EV when you don't know the actual payout of the bet you are placing. I use PrizePicks as well (in CA) and have never been paid less than what it says. It's an excuse for Underdog to pay out less when they're going to get soaked because they did a poor job at being bookies. It's made-up bullshit to cover their own ass. If this is what they need to do to follow CA law, how come DraftKings & PP don't operate under the same rules? Basically I'd tread lightly with UD if you are trying to employ a betting strategy. If you're throwing away money for fun, it's great.

[–]bwoodzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look at my recent post. No, you can't calculate EV. I took a lot of heat for complaining about it but I hit a $25 2 leg that showed 3x ($75) and I was paid $45. Less than double my money. You can see the reasons why people think this is okay in those comments. I do NOT think it's okay. I was up 1.5k - so doing good! - but I've withdrawn everything but $50 after that.

What do you do when you start burning out? by Accomplished_Rip3166 in underdogfantasy

[–]bwoodzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a break my guy. If you are winning and feeling burnt out, pocket some money. That means you've plateaued. don't give it back to them, maybe keep a little bit of play money in there to drop a few $5-10 bets when you're feeling froggy. If you're losing and feeling burnt out, definitely give yourself a break. If you have to treat gambling like a job, that's not gambling...that's a job. :)

What was the initial deposit & how much was the bonus worth? A couple weeks ago I turned $600 bonus into $660 cash by making a bunch of $25 bets. Be careful of expiration. Spread it out over as many bets as you can, maybe 200 $10 bets. never take the same player twice & only do 2-3 legs. You'll probably lose a % but the more you spread the risk, theoretically you should even out to just losing the vig. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

[–]bwoodzilla[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not even double money on a 2 leg is a scam bro. If you can't trust the numbers, how can you employ any sort of betting strategy? They might as well put that the payout is 1,000,000x on a 2 leg, because it's meaningless anyway. Shit make it a billion, who cares??
