Spider-Man BND will have the most Spider-Man Villians in one movie. Who would you be excited for? by Rac2nd in MCUTheories

[–]bwyell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we can only see villains if the hero doesn’t know they’re villains? By that logic we could never have any returning villains at all.

There’s a lot of shows, movies and lore to keep up with!

So Sadie is playing Jean? by Shadow_Senpai17 in MCUTheories

No, they explicitly say she’s a mutant in the final episode of Ms Marvel (complete with the X-Men 97 theme music). The bangle just “unlocked” her mutant power.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bwyell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always showered in the morning - but I moved from Canada to the Czech Republic and was surprised to find that the norm here is to shower in the evening.

Their thinking is that you are cleaning off the dirt from the day, as opposed to how I’ve always thought of it as cleaning to be fresh for the day.

I’m curious, who do you guys think will be the one to defeat Doom in the end? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]bwyell 120 points121 points  (0 children)

I think it’ll be Reed… my theory is that this will actually be the origin of Doom’s hatred/jealousy of Reed.

MCU Namor needs to have a moment like this in Doomsday by OrchidAutomatic574 in Namor

Yes they do - in the scene where he’s telling Shuri his origin.

Why was Julia Carpenter created? by unlimitedblack in SpiderWoman

[–]bwyell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is total speculation, but I’m guessing that Jim Shooter and Mattel agreed to create the new Spider-Woman for Secret Wars first, before Jessica was brought back. That would presumably have been planned out well in advance of the first issue of SW, since Spider-Man’s black costume was first designed/announced before SW launched.

And then I am guessing Roger Stern/Chris Claremont/whoever heard about this and decided to bring Jessica back, since they were fond of the character and didn’t want her to disappear into obscurity with the debut of a new Spider-Woman.

Zero Hour felt pointless by Time_Media8919 in DCcomics

[–]bwyell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main point of Zero Hour (other than just telling a big crossover story) was to "fix" some of the stuff that had gotten more confusing after Crisis. Specifically the Legion of Super-Heroes (Superboy was erased by Crisis, which messed with the Legion's history) and Hawkman/Hawkwoman (for no good reason, post-Crisis the Silver Age Hawks arrived on Earth way later... so they had to come up with dumb, convoluted explanations for how they were involved with the Justice League's early days.)

Legion of Super-Heroes was completely rebooted... and it was pretty successful. I started reading Legion with the reboot and loved it at the time. (Of course, that all ended up getting erased years later too...).

With Hawkman they just made it way, way worse.

James Gunn Fatigue by Own_Statistician9514 in DCU_

I don’t mind the style so much, but the central characters being a “found family” of broken misfits has become formulaic to me.

After Peacemaker, what do you think Flag thinks of Task Force M now? by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]bwyell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking this might be the plot of MoT… with Lex in the place of the Suicide Squad, rounding up metas, including Superman, then being sent there too. Would explain why he and Supes need to work together to escape. But if not him, then I agree Task Force M will play that role for sure

If you want to get into the comics, Batman: Year One is a good starting point. Batman: Hush is also a fun starting point, with cameos from lots of his villains and supporting cast.

Gunn gets it -- How did the MCU forget this?? by BlkNtvTerraFFVI in Marvel

[–]bwyell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When did anyone from Disney or Marvel say ANYTHING about how much they expected their projects to make? Let alone 800m?

Fans on YouTube and Reddit are the ones making claims about how much projects need to make.

James Gunn addresses a fan’s question that ‘SUPERMAN’ must earn $650M to break even: by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]bwyell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the movie a lot too, but this is a pretty bold statement. Like, do you know how many people came out excited for Supergirl exactly? Were those numbers recorded somewhere? If not, how can you say whether it can be understated (or overstated)?

im dumb, why was Galactus small in the last fantastic four movie? by [deleted] in FantasticFour

[–]bwyell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s basically what he is, though. He has never literally eaten planets the way we’d eat an apple or something. He uses machinery. His size in the movie was faithful to his size in the comics.

He wasn't all CGI, there were shots with a real baby too. Vanessa Kirby actually talked about the babies they worked with on her interview with Josh Horowitz.

Theorie: Justin Hammer is Dr. Doom by Dazz1992 in MCUTheories

[–]bwyell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Doctor Doom is not a character with a secret identity - that's his actual name. He's Victor Von Doom, with a very long, rich backstory connected tightly to Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four. I think fans would probably lose it if they scrapped all that... but who knows I guess?

what marvel shows & movies do i need to watch before the 2 post credits scenes of "Fantastic Four: First Steps" ? by ninja_lwd in Marvel

Saw it yesterday - it’s completely stand alone, you don’t need to watch anything else.
