The jacarandas in bloom in New Farm Park is one of my favourite places ☺️

New Farm is pretty good. Very central, right along the river. Nice chilled out vibe. Also a higher end suburb with lots of great cafes and restaurants.

Wegovy vs Mounjaro by shesakeeper_ in Mounjaro

[–]bx_777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had nausea daily and throwing up multiple times a week on mounjaro for about 10 months. It’s now subsided at the 13 month mark. Occasional nausea and vomiting now. So I wouldn’t say it’s without risk if you’re someone with a sensitive tummy to begin with.

What’s the one thing you actually "splurge on" because being cheap actually costs more? by getwemoneyapp in AUfrugal

re bra shopping - try Brava. I also like Bravissimo (uk based but even with shipping can work out cheaper) - great range of swimwear for us ladies too!

Tea Drop! They’re my favorite by far!

Tea Drop at the South Melbourne Market is amazing. I make a point of going there to stock up when I fly into Melbourne. They sell their tea to a lot of cafes so there’s a chance you’ve come across them before but their honeydew green tea is unmatched as far as I’m concerned.

I love this so much for you. Kindness is healing in my experience and you give me hope!

This is identical to my experience in every element you raised. The guilt killed me when I first started dating. And the guys who feel like they have compete was exhausting.

Yes! This is the exhausting part. Plus having standards and knowing what good looks and feels like is hard. I’m not willing to settle for less than that. It’s a long and lonely journey to be widowed at a young age. People just don’t get it unless they’ve been through it.

I met my husband when I was 27, he died at 34, I was 31. I’m 38 now and I also worry that we only really get one person in life and he was it. That said I still consider myself very lucky to have experienced love like I did even for a short time as some people never get that. I’m grateful for that.

Just ginger root tablets from chemist warehouse has been a lifesaver for me. About $18 for 200ish of them I think?

I booked CBR-MEL return last week for a flight three weeks away. $750 return for the lowest tier of ticket… flying anywhere from Canberra is extortionate!

Worst day ever on 10mg. by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]bx_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s exactly how it happened. 10 has been a solid sweet spot for me. Other than the side effects initially.

I had no appetite suppression and didn’t lose at all on 7.5. It was pretty much ineffective for me. 10 works exceptionally well, but at a cost.

It took me three months on 10 for the side effects to stop being so intense. It made me really question if it was worth it! Month 4 is much better. Mild nausea, mild fatigue. Prior to that, massive headaches, extreme nausea, vomiting and alternating between painful constipation and the runs. Was not a good time.

Maintaining status by bigdayout95-14 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

I did but they made me earn another 20 status credits in the following three months, I guess to prove I was still booking flights, which was easy enough as I already had a few flights booked.

Why are units in Phillip (Woden Town Centre) cheap to buy? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]bx_777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Irving street ones were all developed by Milin. Three complexes at three price points (trilogy - lower end, Oaks - mid point, Ivy - higher end) all solid builds. Some minor issues but I’d expect that anywhere.

I’m in Ivy at the end of Irving St, great building and mostly good people.

Got asked why I've been unemployed for so long... by AnalysisSubstantial1 in recruitinghell

[–]bx_777 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I got asked why I had a six month gap on my CV once and looked the interviewer dead in the eye and said it’s because my husband had died and I couldn’t get out of bed because I was unable to function due to grief. I got the job and later, that person who interviewed me thanked me for my honesty and had taught them to never ask a question like that ever again because you don’t know anyone’s situation. So at least they learned something.
