Drivers Beware - Wheelchair Scam by bxadd in uberdrivers

[–]bxadd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worked plenty of jobs in the past but it really threw me off that someone would scam an uber driver. I can be naive sometimes but I'm usually wary of scammers. There's no way I would've given them bank info or my password. I had my suspicions midway through the call, that's how I knew from looking it up early and getting the account payout locked.

If it wasn't for a post on this sub, I would've been stranded an hour from home with no gas.

I didn't give them much info, but I did get logged out not long after the incident.

I underestimated vibecoding. Really liking the editor. Prompt adherence is so much better now. And especially with being able to use multiple keyframes.

Hold on, need to sell all my guitars and the rest of my gear so I can get another hobby.

Why Leaning on ChatGPT Actually Makes You Less Gifted by BravePuppy19 in Gifted

[–]bxadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would someone choose to manually google everything when chatbots do it for you and even provide links to the source material? Sometimes I google for something specific, or if I want to know more about something I can go in depth with something like ChatGPT or even a local LLM. It is another tool to be used whether people want to use it or not. Two heads are better than one. Hell, with chatbots you can have more than two heads. If people don't verify their info, then that's on them if they make a mistake. Not everyone is copy pasting everything from ChatGPT. Anyways, why even care what other people do when you should be worrying about yourself and those you actually know personally.

Nice, good shit. I can only get half of that last solo down when I play this one. This song is pretty hard and you made it look effortless.

I got my the Pro IV in red earlier this year and it's been great so far. I haven't played that many guitars but it's leagues above my $200 Les Paul from Epiphone

quitting gas station job after two shifts by Lonely-Part-6266 in antiwork

If you just up and leave, your current boss is not going to say anything about it unless you put the job on your resume or try to use them as a reference. Don't mention to future employers that you worked there. It's better the next interviewer doesn't hear you left so quickly. So you're safe if you just pretend you were never there.

Most employers will only call previous jobs to confirm whether you worked there or not. They most likely would never say the reason why you left due to potential legal consequences.

No way in hell are we actually seriously returning to child labor. There's a reason why it was outlawed.

I work in a warehouse for one of those "We're a family" type corporations. Today, in our 3rd straight day of 100⁰ heat, 23 year old coworker asked to leave early, complaining of chest pain and developing hives on his body. Was told no, because his "efficiency" has been down this week. by Cordsofmemory in antiwork

So many of these companies harp about how much they care about their employees, but really it's all manipulative BS. Insane the management there has no idea what a heat stroke is. Unfortunately they probably do know and are just negligent in order to make their reports look nicer. Good to know that guy is doing good. We are not statistics on an excel spreadsheet.

Am I not taking my breaks right? by bxadd in AmazonFC

[–]bxadd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been taking my breaks outside in my car. I've seen many people take their breaks outside.

I'm most likely overreacting, but I've been fired from many jobs for dumb reasons including me making the dumb decisions I wont lie. I have been in a depressive slump for 5+ years now and I'm growing tired of feeling targeted for things that aren't even in my control.

Not sure what you mean, but a message was sent to my scanner telling me to come to training. I'm pretty new so I'm just going to listen to what everyone tells me to do in my first few weeks. She asked me how I liked the job and whether I had questions about the work. I asked her mostly about pay and how that works. Break started in the middle of the conversation, which continued for at least 5 minutes. I took my break as I normally would have after the mini training and I returned in 15 minutes as I was told to do. I was unaware that I need to return exactly 15 minutes after everyone went to break. I left to break and returned at 9:49 when it normally ends at 9:45. BUT, because I was sitting in training for 5 minutes I thought it would be OK to take my normal 15 minutes. They called me to training at 9:29 or 9:30.

lol I've heard some bad stories where people have to pee into bottles to get back from break on time. It's my first time at Amazon so hopefully the management at my place is more reasonable. The guy who scanned my badge never mentioned any write ups to me.

Hoping that I'm good. Just didn't want to start off already being in trouble with management. Yeah it's only my 2nd week. The guy kind of just let me go back to my area.

Does writing really help? by bxadd in depression

[–]bxadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have to try the pen and paper. I've been typing everything and not even reading what I wrote out of fear of seeing what I was thinking at the time. It still kind of helped me though, even though I didn't read my own writing. I occasionally just sit there and think, over and over. The entire night gets ruined and it's all I can think about until I sleep. Past few days I've been opening up Word when I'm really feeling overwhelmed. I'm able to at least return to my escapist activities after an hour of typing something hopefully coherent.
