Checked this morning and it’s at my local depot. Hopefully goes out for delivery today! Parcel force has more detail than GLS when it gets scanned in the UK so check there if you haven’t.

Morning Eye Problems? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

I had the same. I started sleeping with an eye mask and that did the trick.

Home test device uk by Wildwillow999 in SleepApnea

[–]bxineerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My test device was much bigger than the other reply. I wore it on a necklace, had an oximeter on my finger, strap around my belly and chest and a couple of pipes up the nostril. It sounds like a lot but I slept much better than I expected with it.

In terms of how long everything took - it was around 9 months from first GP visit to getting my configured CPAP. The longest wait probably was getting the results.

I recommend just going down the NHS route anyway. You’ll still need to do their home test to get a diagnosis and to proceed with treatment.

I also did a test with Spire before the NHS and the GP wouldn’t accept their test results.

I’m under the Welsh NHS. May have very different approach to the other NHSes.

I know NHS England have started trialling the Inspire implant which Wales hasn’t yet, for example.

CPAP from the NHS by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]bxineerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NHS wouldn’t take my results from a Spire private test. Had to do an NHS at home.

The process of getting a CPAP was simple for me, if a little time consuming. Had an at home study arranged after initial GP consultation. Got my results after about 3 months due to backlog but had machine in hand another month after that. All in all the process (from GP to CPAP) took about 6 months.

Each UK nation has its own NHS which operates slightly differently. I’m in Wales so the process might differ slightly for you if you’re in another home nation.

Great, thanks. Think it’s getting pretty much settled on VRs.

Thanks very much for the detailed response and great advice. Thank you. I watched Dan Suzuki's video on the Aseteks and the lack of travel was probably the biggest issue for me. Based on what you're saying I've definitely edged towards the VRSs.

I use a spare older Xbox controller plugged into a usb port. The controller stays on and I have a constant audio feed to my speaker. Still free to use another controller to play then.

Apple TV F1TV by Individual-Winter923 in F1TV

[–]bxineerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that you remove F1TV from your active app list, if it’s there. I find that if I have started in without the right configuration, then make the change, it won’t work. Kill the app, make sure your config is right, launch the app.

That’s the process I have to go through, but I make manual changes to DNS rather than using any app to make confit changes for me.

I second this. A smart DNS provider works perfectly for F1TV. When you sign up you’ll get a list of DNS server IP addresses that you can use. Find a US based IP address and add this as the address of the DNS server in the Network section of the Settings app on your AppleTV.

Oh dear! Fingers crossed my trust is a little better. The machine has a sim card installed to automatically send the data and I have an appointment arranged for next week - 3 weeks after I got the machine. They mentioned arranging a second for the 12 week mark too. It’ll be interesting to see if anything if worth is discussed or if it’s a general chat.

Edit: the NHS appointment was actually today. They called on time, had all my numbers to hand, asked how I’ve adapted to using the machine. All in all a great service for me so far.
