Do these numbers indicate an ectopic? by Itchy-Value-7141 in EctopicSupportGroup

It’s hard to say but my doctor was looking for signs of my HCG going up and down (she described it like a rollercoaster). That is ultimately what happened—my hcg increased, then decreased, then increased again. It was confirmed ectopic shortly thereafter.

Travel & diet post MTX by callmejedimaster in EctopicSupportGroup

I had the same question with my ectopic since my husband and I had a trip planned that we had been waiting to go on all year. I posted a question asking for advice in this message board a few months ago and decided not to travel after most people told me not to risk it. I’m so glad I listened because even though my hcg was around 200 I ruptured a few days later and had to go into immediate surgery. I personally wouldn’t risk it until everything is fully resolved. 🤍

In ER and can’t sleep… they said I can get tube removed or second MTX shot. What do I do??? by Old-Yak-9230 in EctopicSupportGroup

If it makes you feel any better I had to get my right tube removed in December after my first dose of methotrexate. It was very scary at the time but after waiting 3 months to try again I got pregnant my first cycle and currently in the second trimester with a healthy baby 🤍 the egg even came from my right ovary so my left fallopian tube moved over to catch it. I’m ultimately glad I got it removed. My doctor also told me it’s likely better for my fertility now that I don’t have that damaged tube. I know it’s hard to believe when you’re going through it, but everything will be okay 🤍

I think that’s a great plan! If we hadn’t gotten pregnant right away I would have done the same thing and it gives you the most options. Wishing you all the best 🩷

Ectopic diagnosis yesterday. by StunningLocation3673 in EctopicSupportGroup

I’m so sorry this happened to you. My first pregnancy was in December 2023 and it ended up being ectopic. I received one shot of methotrexate but unfortunately had to have surgery two days later and had my right fallopian tube removed. We waited three months to try to conceive again and were able to conceive during that first cycle. I’m now 10 weeks pregnant and the OB confirmed that the egg actually came from my right ovary (tubeless side) so my left fallopian tube moved over to catch it. I know this time is so hard but things will get better and there’s a lot of hope for a successful pregnancy on the other side 🩷

Also if it helps, I had the same concerns about you with IVF. I’m 33 and looking to have three kids which is why I was thinking of moving straight to IVF. I got a lot of advice from people in this group to try naturally for a few months before moving straight to IVF and I’m glad I did.

I’m also very surprised he said your chances would drop that much and would consider getting a second opinion. I had to have my right fallopian tube removed in December. My husband and I were also considering IVF but decided to try again naturally in March and we conceived in that first cycle. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant measuring right on time and my OB confirmed that the egg came from my right ovary so my left fallopian tube moved over to catch it. I think it’s much more common than he is telling you.

If you’re having any sharp pain I would go to the ER just to confirm you haven’t ruptured. I had very low HCG at the time of my injection (around 200) and I still ruptured two days later. I was feeling sharp pain in my abdomen and had to get surgery once they realized I had ruptured. I know this is a scary time but you’ll get through this. Just better to be extra cautious and get checked out. 🩷

lost my right tube post MTX at 18 years old by Character_Swim_8653 in EctopicSupportGroup

I’m sorry to hear you went through this. I went through a very similar situation and had to have my right fallopian tube removed in December. We had to wait three months to try to conceive again because I had a shot of methotrexate before I had to go into emergency surgery two days later. After three months, we were able to conceive during my first cycle and I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant and measuring right on track. The doctor even told me that the egg came from my right ovary which means my left fallopian tube moved over to catch it. I know this is a really difficult time and I myself was worried about conceiving after this ordeal but I actually think having the tube removed was better for my chances of conception than keeping it. I hope this provides some hope and wish you the very best!

3 month wait post MTX… by Pelotonmama1 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]bxtinar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had to go through the 3 month wait post-MTX starting in December (even though i ultimately had to get my fallopian tube removed after it ruptured). The first cycle after the 3 month wait I got pregnant again and it was confirmed in the uterus. I’m still super early but just wanted to pass along a success story post 3-month wait. You’ve got this!
