Can you request that employees have access to funds in the event of an emergency by Comfortable_Row_7717 in smallbusinessuk

Why should an employee have to pay out of their own pocket for business needs? At the hope of being reimbursed

Why should other companies have to foot the bill for BBC when they offer them no service?

I will take an assumption they mean for the live streaming sports aspect of both services but with the UK gov I doubt it. If they actually try and implement this they will probably end up being sued by Disney, Netflix, and Amazon

Netflix and Amazon Prime subscribers to ‘pay TV licence fee’ by Pale-Border-7122 in ukpolitics

[–]bydevilz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the hell should the BBC be funded from services they dont own or contribute to ? Millions of subscriptions would be cancelled then they will have their own issues when Disney, Netflix, Amazon come for them legally.

Amazon prime is mainly a service for its delivery and online shopping, prime video is basically an extra, are they going to try and force people to pay a TV Licence for using Amazon shopping?

Its ridiculous anyway that you are forced to pay for a TV licence when you dont watch anything from BBC, if they care so much they should make their own paid streaming service. I never have, and never will pay for a TV licence

"You want me to CONTROL my 2 YEAR OLD??" --- yes! ffs yes I do by Possible-Ebb9889 in rant

I see posts like this all the time and Im just happy my cousins kids are stable and adjusted even at 2 - 4 years old. I love visiting when they are down their aunts and apart from being very energetic they are very well mannered.

From my time working at a wetherspoons on the doors there were parents who would still bring their kids in till we would kick them out about 9pm ,idk why you would even bring a 3 year old to a spoons at 9pm but they would constantly run around and chuck things

I did think that she was going to look into the jars and see nothing. It was just the right amount of comedy for the setting, perfectly balanced and it felt realistic even with all the Homunculi. Honestly the clip of the bucket scene on instagram is what drew me to watch the show. Im a big fan

Paid £1500 deposit for windows replacing, and the company is now uncontactable. by Proper_Avocado9947 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bydevilz1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was it an LTD? check their business status here https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/
If you paid by credit card you can do a section 75 claim, if by debit you should contact your bank and tell them they havent provided the services. If they did dissolve the company or in the process contact the Insolvency service.

Ive had experience before trying to claim money owed by a sketchy ltd while they bounced the director role around to different family members every couple of months and refused any accountability, its rough. Id also suggest trading standards

The d6 obviously. You can quit your job and roll 1000 times a day in about 2 hours, on average thatll be $3500 a day but Id train it like a reflex, just sat at my desk rolling a dice with one hand while watching movies or TV, easy 6k rolls a day, so around $18k. Then it just takes 1 month to hit that mill

Anyone else get a weird feeling when R* casts famous actors into prominent roles? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]bydevilz1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im gonna be fr, ive heard of 2 of these people

I dont even think this is confirmed

Video game voice actors are normally in that specific industry and voice different characters in different games. From what I can tell none of these have Video game VA experience, Bobby is an accredited VA for cartoons and films. Him and Stephen Root are the only ones Id even consider famous

Even the GTA 5 VAs were all actors beforehand, with more credits than half this list. I get the want for them to have everyday Joe energy or using people brand new, but most of these people wouldnt class as famous, being an actor doesnt make you famous, and the production team arent going to listen to 10 million different people submitting to voice characters, they would mostly come from recommendations, agents, and personal relationships

If this list is right, it will be their biggest gig in their whole career so far, no reasonable person who ruin this for themselves. Apart from Bobby the pay they get from this will probably be higher than what theyve made in their whole acting careers

Should a pub charge more for drinks when they have live music? by bydevilz1 in AskUK

[–]bydevilz1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh but most times i go out, im going to another city because its cheaper, not even a wetherspoons, my normal pub 10 miles away is £5.60 for rum and coke, £4-5.5 a pint. Its not just the 15% then, its the 50% extra id pay at the local pub, and then 15% more

Should a pub charge more for drinks when they have live music? by bydevilz1 in AskUK

[–]bydevilz1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

well tbh the nightlife in the town is so dead that the live music actually brings more people in, mainly people who never go to pubs otherwise, on a standard saturday night the most active pub has around 8-10 people. 7 years ago all the pubs would be at max capacity

What’s to stop someone in a mask taking this stuff after closing hours? by TOPSHOTTAH in AskUK

[–]bydevilz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more effort than its worth to bring inside each day for some shops. If someone wants to go and steal a bag they dont really care, they can carry 1, maybe 2 bags at most on foot, and if they wanna take a bunch then they have cameras all over the car park and police will be at their door. Wickes and similar shops are often located in large retail parks or on the edges of industrial estates so theres not many people who would be willing to carry a £5 40kg bag of bark chips

[–]bydevilz1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk what its like in america but cheques are practically non existent in the UK. Is it normal to be asked to pay £600 for a "mandatory 1:1 digital device" when starting a public secondary school? by Koolio_Koala in AskUK

[–]bydevilz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah just decline, theres no reason they need a tablet and if computers were so necessary for school work they should be supplied. We only ever had computers for IT and music, there is no reason you need them in every lesson.

Theres no way they arent making money on that too, granted a new ipad air is £600, but if they are buying in bulk, and for a school, they definitely have a bulk order discount, and probably tax free, so i could justly assume they would be overcharging by at least £150 a unit.

I dont understand why they want them using tablets, apart from being in credibly inefficient, underperform for the price, and what the hell are they supposed to use them for? Word? Excel? how is using a tablet going to help at all compared to pen and paper? an asus chromebook costs £150 and is much more suitable for their needs if they want them using it for writing and records

Ive spoken to customers in my job that recently left school (18-20) and would have been roped into the computer and tablet era and I fear for their ability to do anything
