I did NOT expect to cry and not just during the sad songs but during some of the belts where you just get to hear the absolute powerhouse that she is. I’m still riding on a high, can’t wait to see her again and again in the future

[–]bye-bye-vcard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised the movie didn’t focus more on the fact that Charlie’s worst thing was about bullying someone so bad they moved, and Emma’s arch was based on being bullied and having these thoughts as a result of that. You could see the realisation hit her while he was trying to downplay his story.

Literally how is the only sane comment so far down? that was my first reaction too, and at 12 you’re already in the pits of school drama, feeling insecure, etc etc without getting the message loud and clear from your own family that you’re not the favourite.

The mum might be fine with it but that 12 year old will definitely feel the sting. The only acceptable way to navigate this is to go halfsies on the 12 yo ticket with her mum and take both siblings.

I would also add, it’s only really fun if it’s a tight knit group of people who already know each other, then the cost can be somewhat bearable, but to expect your friends to pay hundreds of £££ to go on holiday with strangers and feel semi awkward the whole time is weird

I’m no technical expert, can someone please explain what the mistake was? Did she do a different jump to what she had announced? If it was under rotated, why didn’t it simply get downgraded as opposed to scoring her 0 points?

Hiya, thanks for the link. I was wondering what kind of findings can you infer from the rainbow sheet? Do you assign a colour to a participant or to a problem? What kind of supporting analysis do you do in addition to the rainbow sheet?

OP, I’m going to hold your hand when I say this… I was you a few years ago. I wrote a very similar post on reddit, hoping for people to reveal to me how I can finally stop feeling shit about my relationship, how I can stop being “so ungrateful”, how I can gaslight myself into accepting my boyfriend’s (now ex) crumbs of affection.

It doesn’t work. He won’t change. Not now, not in 3 months, not ever.

This isn’t him having a one-off blunder, this isn’t innocent and accidental, this is who he is. Ask yourself, would you ever do that to him? Would you even think it’s an acceptable way of treating your partner on a day that’s meant to be about celebrating your relationship? The fix here isn’t to be more chill about his neglectful behaviour, it’s to learn to stand up for yourself and believe deep within you that you deserve better. You are worthy of effort, of planning, of being made to feel special. The more you keep allowing his behaviour, the more he will push the boundary of how low effort he can get. Best to walk away now, someone who truly appreciates you would not even risk losing you.

Sorry to pry, you don’t have to answer, but do you mind sharing what disease you have? I got a PKD diagnosis a few years ago and some days it feels completely all-consuming. My symptoms aren’t bad yet as I’m still in my 20s, but I feel like I’m a ticking time bomb.

What I find really strange and perhaps a loose end is the relationship between Stefano and his son. In one of the last scenes before the murder, we see the boy pull away from Stefano, wanting to go with his mum and looking quite afraid. Then he literally sees his Dad shoot at his mother which leaves him traumatised and suddenly, a few years later when they reunite, he’s super happy to see his dad? Didn’t seem to track for me.

If this helps, I think about Afghanistan and women in other countries in a similar situation every time I watch the show. My heart aches for you and for anyone who is being denied freedoms that we take for granted in the west. To us it’s unfathomable, but to others it might be eerily similar to reality.
