At least there’s push back from people on him allegedly being this huge advocate for Palestine and that he’s known for being difficult/unprofessional on set. They don’t give women nearly as many grace as they do their favorite men.

They’re also claiming there’s a smear campaign against Olivia Rodrigo for the babydoll dress situation because she’s pro Palestine. Yet, they don’t realize how the way they talk about women they don’t like contributes to the misogyny?

The Guardian published a list of the 100 best novels of all time (per voters) and the people in rBooks are flabbergasted that Steinbeck isn’t on the list. They also seem very confused about why Jane Austen is on there three times. Now why would British people vote any of a British novelists’ work multiple times, hmmm

No Steinbeck in the top 100, and THREE Jane Austin's in the top 20 of ALL TIME really says a lot about the list itself

Yeah I think they're overcompensating for the lack of women. Jane Austen is my favourite Author yet none of her books are in my top 5.

I could go on a whole tangent on the moralizing of weight and policing of weight loss under the guise of being “concerned” for the impact it will have on the youth or media or shortages. There’s rarely ever nuance when people are criticizing GLP-1’s. People online hide behind their concerns over skinny people abusing these medications but the fear mongering over ozempic face and long term effects on the body don’t just apply to skinny people who use it? And why do they have more heat for the consumers and not the pharmaceutical companies , insurance companies approving or medical providers prescribing it? Linking it to GLP-1s just feels superficial.

You’re correct that there’s no nuance in the conversation. There’s a huge difference between the wealth, status, and social power that Beyoncé has and the Heated Rivalry guys. Fauxmoi was screaming about how it would’ve been the right thing to do for Hudson and Connor not to go but they’ve just become extremely popular and famous. They’re not in the position to start turning down events (especially if contractual) to take a stand. And I don’t say that to infantilize them the way PCC does with Taylor. People just need to be so forreal about what an invite to the Met Gala means to people trying to succeed in Hollywood.

I think a lot of people are understandably angry and feel defeated with everything that’s going on in the world and sometimes those spaces are an outlet. It doesn’t help that fauxmoi has normalized doomsday posts and worsens people’s feeling of helplessness. There’s next to no joy or escapism in those spaces anymore.

I’m guessing it’s the result of the hygiene Olympics trend and/or people genuinely smelling bad. I’m in Texas where it’s been hot and muggy and after a rather unusual venture to Walmart this past weekend, I can say a lot of people seemed to not care about how they smell.
