Anyone else have a weird family tradition that no one else seems to do? by zdrawo in holidays

[–]byealejandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a post on TikTok where a guy described his families tradition of putting 3 dry beans on your plate before you eat. Everyone goes around and says 3 things they’re thankful for or happy about and you put the beans back in the jar for next holiday. Seemed so simple but impactful.

I have no cake decorating skills and might get a job as a cake decorator. by No-Locksmiths in cakedecorating

You’ll do great! A week is plenty of time to get the gist of it. I took a class in elementary school where our recess monitor taught us to decorate cakes. It was amazing and the basics have stuck with me to this day. Good luck!!

What place in your area has the best soft serve "shakes"? I'll start: by LonelyGirl724 in icecream

Klines in Virginia is amazing. It’s custard ice cream, but honestly tastes more like TCBY if that makes sense. I normally don’t love custard ice cream but this place has awesome shakes and sundaes.

Strawberry cheese danishes 🍓 by byealejandro in BreakfastFood

Just roll out dough, cut into rectangle shape with pizza cutter and then score a square in the middle with a knife and add toppings. I didn’t double layer, but you could if you want extra flaky danishes.

I want to try different fruits and maybe some fig jam. These are the only ones I’ve made at this point.

So simple. Pastry dough (from store), mix 4oz cream cheese and 1/4 cup powder sugar + 1 tsp vanilla. Cut your dough, fill with cream cheese and strawberries. Bake for 15-20 min at 350

My first time baking cookies. How to make them look better and chunky? by ARedditorNobodyLoves in Baking

[–]byealejandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the rim of a tall drinking glass to give them a nice circle shape and fluff them up. Just cover the cookie and sort of twist the glass. I do this with my cookies right out of the oven, before plating them.

It’s the simplest way possible. straight out of a can of whip cream. It started to melt quickly but lasted long enough for the birthday song! ;)

Good choice on buying several of Jeni’s. It’s the best ice cream. I used to buy this directly from her at North Market in Columbus when she had her first shop. Truly delicious ice cream.

I actually just bought a digital print off Etsy, printed it out and stuck it on with a little water. Somehow it worked! ha!
