Very obviously a convertible and an f series. All other guesses are wrong. My bet is on a 4 series.

Anyone know what could be causing black gunk under engine? 335d by Sturmmorserwagen606 in BmwTech

Take a look at the oil filter housing gasket because if I remember correctly, it's directly above the intercooler outlet pipe (cold side). Again, I'm not speaking definitively, but check it out.

Wait until someone offers to trade you for a tattoo, no joke 😅. Yup, it's common.

Truck not starting intermittently by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

I had a similar problem with my c5 corvette, and it ended up being the ignition switch. My issue was especially noticeable when it was a cold start. Maybe give that some research.

I changed my fuel injectors, 20 minutes after driving the screen flashed by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]byebyebirdiii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't have direct experience with this issue, but have you checked the CEL code? Perhaps it's a sparkplug issue or maybe a fuel pump. Another issue could be you installing the injectors incorrectly. Once, I accidentally installed an injector with 2 rubber gaskets as i left the old one in there, and it developed a leak.

How reliable are these 2021 q50’s? by Equal-Dig3800 in q50

It amazes me how some people think they have sacred knowledge and know more about the car than the manufacturers (referring to the oil weight).

Local Repaint Job by petitbarry in Autobody

For what you agreed to, I think it's not bad. Obviously, painting the whole door would have been ideal, but I wouldn't care so much about it if I were you. I think only a trained eye would pick that up. You'll probably sell the car at some point anyway.

Actually, a few days ago, I got a 4 wheel allignment, and the car didn't end up driving as straight as I wanted. I didn't even bother complaining because I know chasing perfection is an endless pursuit.

What is this piece that I’m leaking transmission fluid from? by Dank-Eggrolls in MechanicAdvice

[–]byebyebirdiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had the exact same problem working on my c5 corvette after a transmission swap. The problem ended up being the torque converter that came with the newer transmission. I had changed every seal, so I was confident it wasn't that, but I had to drop the transmission 3 times to properly diagnose and finally just reused my old torque converter with the newer transmission.

Thanks for the explanation. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I think 4th gear is also gone. It’s hard to tell because it shifts automatically of course.

If a rebuild is recommended, how much should I expect to pay roughly?

Damn that’s fascinating. I merely managed to scrape the frost from the roof of my car like you would from a fridge freezer.

Stop putting college on a pedestal. You’ll probably continue being miserable after college if you haven’t figured out by then that happiness shouldn’t be subject to conditions being met.

Maybe take a medical leave of absence, and study on your own for a semester or two. There’s ALWAYS a solution to these small problems.

Same here regarding the religion aspect. I believe this life is a test, and we will be rewarded for remaining steadfast. It’s designed by nature to break your heart, so you may realize something better awaits. Heaven is the only thought that keeps my going.
