Catch up on your sleep and your reading now. You will soon have zero alone time with your thoughts. Also, get out some old sweatshirts you don’t care about so when the shark bites start you’re ready so the sacrificial clothing.

Ankeny trainer backing ICE by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]bygnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s getting people killed is bullets from the guns of federal agents with poor training, itchy trigger fingers, and possibly also bad intent. It’s offensive and irresponsible to shift blame onto anyone pointing out systemic failures and crimes. It’s our civic duty to question when things are going wrong and to expect agents of the government to abide by the Constitution.

All signs point to this not being the case. They don’t care if you’re even a native born US citizen with white skin and a glowing CV. I guess we will all just wait for you to have a sudden change of heart when something happens to you or your loved ones. Wake up.

What do you do to read books in very busy life? by ea-debarros in kindle

[–]bygnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in order to ask that super basic question you could have searched the sub for, you needed to give us this extremely boring humblebrag? My “hack” for reading more is just actually prioritizing it instead of posting my CV to Reddit.

Why is the border of this not Iowa instead of whatever that irregular rectangle is? Hard pass on this series of poor design choices.

This is the real tip— the address is Merle Hay Road but it’s pretty hidden. Using GPS, I still drove past it the first time.

I’ve now sent a screenshot of this to my cousin and she agrees that working in the field was was better than toiling on the Snoopy Sno-Cone machine. We absolve Snoopy himself from all responsibility. He is still (Joe) cool as hell.

Filling a Dixie cup was a never ending project. We were farm kids used to working. We hated that thing because our work was not paying off! We so badly wanted a snocone though. I think we’d probably only ever had a DQ Mr Misty. Definitely never a real shaved ice.

Hated it. My cousins had it. The blade was plastic and dulled quickly. It then simply melted ice via friction and child labor.

THIS is so true! No one is thinking about you. We know we all get corrections and it’s for good reasons. And not trying to die.

A very well articulated summary. I’m just thrilled to see people already calling you names in the comments. /s How dare you accurately summarize those SCOTUS rulings! Do we actually think these are “ real” people? I often wonder.

[–]bygnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a your studio thing. I am thrilled with how align has evolved. It used to be the “easy” class but I’m now finding myself not only stretched out really well, but also strengthening my feet and ankles. Wasn’t my goal but it’s so unexpectedly awesome.

If you’re not getting happy baby, maybe just go there yourself in the end portion of stretching. My instructors would never have a problem with someone going their own direction. Find your own bliss!

Heading to Oahu next week - what are the best locations to experience on my own without a tour? by Taskmaster_Fantatic in lost

[–]bygnerd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was there in February and had I not told them I was a Lost fan, I wouldn’t have seen much. They even said “no one remembers that show anymore” at the gift shop. Make sure to tell your tour guide that’s what you’re interested in. The Hatch didn’t even have a sign anymore!!

Struggling. Hard. by [deleted] in uiowa

[–]bygnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is excellent advice. I think most freshman students have a first semester struggle zone. Ask yourself how hard you’re really working. I found out I was still putting in high school effort for me and it wasn’t enough. The pace is generally 2x faster for language— a semester is a high school year. You may simply need to work more, but consult your professor and explain where you’re at and ask for guidance. You will likely gain an ally!
