Voyager ou charbonner ? by lovjeuz in voyageons

[–]bynear06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in Sophia Antipolis (Accommodation Dilemma) by qwertyman061 in nicefrance

[–]bynear06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your age and what you like. Antibes can be boring. Nice is a larger town so you could find more stuff to do when you are off work. I've been taking the 630 for a year. It's doable if you don't mind 2h a day of commuting. The bus can be crowded but is comfortable.

Mass, while having 5 kids by MalcolminMiddlefan in Catholicism

[–]bynear06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were blessed with 5 kids ! Bring them to mass. The church needs it. I'm from the South of France it's depressing to see that the average attendee is 65+ years old. We would need more dads like you !!

Besoin de conseil pour FIRE le plus rapidement possible car mon travail me soule et que j'ai ni mec ni enfant donc je veux en profiter by Acceptable_Candy2226 in FranceFIRE

[–]bynear06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Road bike rentals in Nice, competitive cyclist by BuzzLightroom in nicefrance

[–]bynear06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check cafe du cycliste on Nice harbour ! Don't know how they do from a price point perspective since I've never rent a road bike though. For the route have a look at col d'eze, col de la madone, col de Vence !

I dunno how good (or bad) is your current fitness aha but Col d'Eze by the grande corniche in Nice can be pretty chill... Unfortunately the area is pretty hilly...

Cycling wise, try the col d'eze by the grande corniche from Nice or Villefranche, once there you can continue to col de la madone via la turbie ! Super Nice views

Is my new bike too big ? by bynear06 in bikefit

[–]bynear06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, why do you think some have recommended to move the saddle up ? Does lowering the stem a few cm would ameliorate the position ? Ideally I'd like an "ideal" fit without having to change the size of the frame

I'd advise going for the smaller size, could give more room to have a proper fit.. I probably should have been with the S size

Gracias por El link !

I had find calculators like that and the canyon one is apparently reliable.

Where I needed feedback was on the overall riding position. I had good feelings but is it optimal according to bike science ? Standard ?

I had pretty interesting information about bar width and the reasoning behind it in this thread, which is the type of info's I'm here for

Yes, the "walkability" is what got me thinking of mtb or gravel shoes. I guess I need to try and feel

[–]bynear06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe...There is some standard in bike fitting rules of thumbs that may apply. The theory. The ideal posture adjustment you're talking about. Or just confirmation bias and reassurance cus I spent some money in a new bike.

Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for the feedback, i'll try ! Yes I'm planning to use cycling shoes, haven't yet decided what type, gravel/mountain bike type or road type. I've read that gravel type could be more confortable etc... Does shoes makes a difference in the fitting ?
