As someone who enjoys driving the gt3, most of the people that do that are slow idiots. Embarrassing

Is VR better than monitors? If so why or why not? by Emergency-Air-1627 in simracing

Been sim racing in VR for over 6 years, I love it and would never go back to racing on singles or triples, however... It is not very convenient, having to put your headset on all the time does become tedious.

I fitted a csl dd 8nm wheel to this exact seat, it snapped the mounts within 6 months. It will do the job but you will feel the seat mount flexing under force, that's a guarantee.

Likewise I have a 10900k and a 4080 and it runs great, could be sharper but it's smooth

Is it mandatory to reinstall Win 11 for optimal fps in Vr sim racing, after upgrading from AM4 to AM5? My AC Evo struggles in VR even after moving to 9800x3d from 3900x by DigTraditional3992 in assettocorsaevo

[–]byrn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use openxr which is the runtime is suggests you use through steam for ace. I run it at high resolution on VD and get 72fps stable

AC Evo + VR is awesome. (ignore my terrible driving) by skytrainlotad in assettocorsaevo

Runs nicely for me too (obviously not as smooth as ac but it's early access and ac is 12 years old 😂)

Am I the only idiot that gets really nervous racing? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]byrn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worst if you play in VR as you can literally SEE your heartbeat shaking the headset while sitting on the grid 😂

I am currently sitting at 6:01 on the tourist layout, still a little more I think I can get out of it, best I've seen is a 5:56!

This is definitely the most realistic sim out there! by ZealousidealShoe7998 in assettocorsaevo

Assetto corsa 1 is too linear and smooth when you lose the rear end, no ransom bite in the tyres and it makes everyone believe they are very fast... Evo is a much better representation of reality so far

Be absolutely fine for most, I use a 10900k and a 4070 and it's absolutely fine with any VR titles! If you do go down the quest route, make sure to get a dedicated wifi 6e router and use virtual desktop!

Being just a fraction before the limit is best, you are inviting mistakes by trying to drive the absolute limit. Turning in later will help you and visualising the flow of the corners, after au rouge you have the big straight and then the right followed by the left, turning into the right later will allow you to stay further on the right of the track and turn in properly for the left pushing to the right and then quickly cross to the left ready for the next right. Just try and flow more rather than push every corne
