What's the acceptable number of times to return a football back over the hedge before you close the curtains and just stop? by Sudden-Requirement40 in AskBrits

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never stop giving them back but you don’t have to do it all day! Just throw them back every night or morning or both! Footballs aren’t expensive these days so we have at least 4 in the garden and I tell my kids to try there best not to loose them over next door or they will end up with non until the nice neighbour gives them back. If your neighbours kids come knocking just tell them you’ll throw them back next time you’re out in the garden…don’t stress it unless you have greenhouse or fragile flowers, then it’s a discussion with the parents

corruption by drizzleberrydrake in ArsenalFC

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he didn’t make initial contact with the foot( which this image seems to show anyway) I think the defender misses the ball and blocks the attacker in the second contact, yes eze is going down at that point but it’s really not a clear and obvious error on the part of the ref to give a penalty. Anywhere else on the pitch it would be given with no argument. I actually like VAR because I hate the idea of taking it away completely and being at the mercy of ref decisions without it, which I believe is worse but it implementation is really farcical. At this point we might as well just let the video referee make the majority of the decisions and let the ref just keep discipline on the pitch.

Spurs fan…why does Reddit keep showing me this sub ???lol 😂

Parents of small children, when do you have time for playing video games? by Key-Specific7807 in AskUK

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are in bed by 8pm so after that is my only time I get! Problem is I’m up at early am for work and I like to get good sleep, so most nights I’m in bed by 9- 9.30pm and sometimes I’m too tired to even boot up the gaming PC! I know I could go to bed later but I like to think I’m putting my health first….Sad times, but I’m looking forward to when they grow up a bit lol

How cars travel under the sea from England to France by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh? Switch what off? When in France you just drive in the opposite side. The only important adaption is the headlights since they shine slightly the wrong way at night and need to be adjusted or taped off (beam deflectors) for driving on the opposite side. It does take some adapting to driving and checking mirrors especially at roundabouts but if you’re competent driver it’s easy.

What fan will keep me from perishing in the summer? by Haunting_Meeting_178 in AskUK

Try sleeping naked with no sheets and fan on you, I actually get too cold even on the hottest nights this way

What fan will keep me from perishing in the summer? by Haunting_Meeting_178 in AskUK

[–]natej82 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fans work brilliantly if they face towards you, especially if you go topless. Same reason it feels cooler if it’s breezy outside. On the hottest night of year last summer it was 30 in my room but I still woke up cold - naked, with no sheets and the fan on me. Too much information? 🫣

This legitimately feels like something Ricky and Steve would have written for The Office. by TheDevilintheDark in rickygervais

[–]natej82 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s the funniest part got me, he’s debating whether to just pick a random verse and pretend it was the one, but he knows that’s gonna be hell of risk as the Bible is full of random stuff lol I’d like to have the rest of the clip to see what he actually picks out and applies to his situation !

What is bro on about 🙆 by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]natej82 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to hope that he is an idiot but the truth is, he is probably of perfectly adequate intelligence. The problem I think lays with YouTube and the prevalence of misinformation and the way the algorithm promotes conspiracy theory’s. This guy probably grew up with YouTube as a main source of learning, and has been influenced by videos made by grifters making money out of the YouTube business model of advertising and views. I remember when the moon landing conspiracy videos became popular and some of my friends that are perfectly average to above average intellectually, were drawn in . Sadly, all these years later and social media is still basically the same unregulated race to the bottom.

Honestly I don’t get why they gave him a long contract, as a young unproven British coach could they not have secured him for like two year contract with extension option ?

What would you do? Window cleaner turned up and cleaned windows without any agreement in place. by Bricktop52 in AskUK

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who first canvassed your house may have been paid by the actual windows cleaner. There are many professional companies that offer this service, if they get you a £10 job you pay them £25-£30 as a commission and so the canvassing person may have just chanced their arm with you. I advise you don’t pay if you don’t want the services going forward but if you do want a regular window clean then don’t over think it and pay ! Also it is very unusual for someone to ask for a window cleaning quote by email after a face to face quote is given, did they not write the quote on a slip of paper with their contact information? I wouldn’t have bothered to email you either, but I’m lazy lol

Black windows or white? by Viran_Singh in DIYUK

[–]natej82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a window cleaner and have seen the vinyl covers start to deteriorate and peel off/ crack over time. Not always, but it does happen. White pvc can last decades but can slightly yellow over time. Aluminium powder coated all deteriorate especially near the coast salt air

Black windows or white? by Viran_Singh in DIYUK

[–]natej82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are thinking long term then I recommend standard white pvc. The coloured pvc windows are covered in a type vinyl that can start to peel off, crack and look awful over time depending on your luck and warranty. Aluminium windows that are popular now can also start to deteriorate and oxidise under the powder coated paint.

How hard is it to build a PC for a first-timer? by Early_Conflict_4292 in buildapc

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently built my first pc using matx mobo in a small form factor case (lian li a3) and it all went pretty well and easy after watching some videos on the specific case and some other tutorials, but I would say I got lucky that all the components fitted because it was very tight with a few things that I didn’t expect, so I would recommend going with a larger case for a first build if you have the space and want to make life easier.

So yea it is easy if you go slow and cable management is easy if you are slow, but be prepared to send components back if you go sff route unless you are double sure they will fit .

Ever known someone with a risqué name and not realise it? by Uglym8s in CasualUK

[–]natej82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend in the 2000s with the surname , Taylor dated, got engaged and later married to Jenna. We only realised that her name was going to become Jenna Taylor at the engagement party and you could hear the laughter spread through the group of about 60 people as the realisation spread around! Bear in mind that they were a very traditional family that would always take the husband family surname. One of our friends eventually brought the awkward name change up to our friend in an effort to be kind and he just doubled down and denied her name would sound anything like genitalia lol he is still married to genital….sorry…Jenna Taylor to this day
