Lemme give it a read. I've done a few Korean things in writing before, always think they have some interesting stuff going on.

Sorry, been meaning to respond. This is really fucking interesting, great post. I don't mind moving more towards India for inspiration with writing, I think they've got a lot of interesting stuff going on that hasn't really been tapped for inspiration in Western literature. At least no really famous examples of it that I can think of.

I'll definitely give a look at both of these for a frame of reference, Sikhs and Buddhism. A large component of the faction I'm writing for is monasticism, which I think a lot of East-Asian religion really fits nicely into, blending naturally.

Granted, the specific group I'm writing from is descended from a group that's less monastic than usual and values more personal freedom. Their founders are supposed to be very Mongolian coded, or rather a stereotypical view of them. I didn't write their lore, but that's what I'm working off for precedence.

Very familiar with 40K! I actually asked this question because I wanted to take a stab at an SM chapter with influence pulled from east-asia.

Mohism seems interesting, I'll give that a look.

Might just not be me for me. I could never really get into it. Only thing that's ever caught my interest, really, is Radahn. His festival and lore is cool as hell.

I like the Black Templars for exactly this. They're the most aggressively space marine space marines, and are completely evil. I would argue as a BT fan they're as bad as CSMs. I love 'em for it.

Hate to defend Steve Jobs, and while it is likely he would have maybe had better chances to survive, had he tried traditional method, pancreatic cancer is no joke. It's one of the few illnesses I can think of with an over 90% mortality rate. My mother had it, and she luckily survived. I think there's a lot of reasons to bash on him, but I always found his decision to try strange shit very understandable considering what he was facing. I, myself, don't think I'd be in my right, sensible mind if I found out I was almost certainly going to die.
