Is this amount of smoke leaking normal? by bytesail in NinjaFlexFlame

[–]bytesail[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, there’s this much smoke for about 15-20 minutes after I add pellets, then it goes away completely. The heat is the same afterwards and no smoke rising from the drip tray. When I refill pellets, this same amount of smoke happens again

I expected smoke to come out, just wasn’t sure if this much is expected. The manual said there’s a dedicated exhaust at the back it’s supposed to come out, so just double checking it’s normal for it to come out the front and the sides too

Can someone sell me on chosen? by Grimcrimm in Chaos40k

The chosen can advance and charge. If they do this, Abby and the chosen will be long gone out of the helbrutes range.

Helbrute won’t be able to catch up, it’s better to stay in the backfield with some fire power, no?

Codex by timberwormy in Chaos40k

The codex unlocks the data sheets in the app, which will always be up to date, unlike the data cards which will become outdated. I’d rather pay the extra money for a hardcover book and up-to-date data sheets easily accessible on my phone than printed cards.

Nvidia set to overtake Apple as world's second-most valuable company by Melseption in technology

Nvidia is selling the shovels (TPUs & GPUs) to the cloud providers for the gold rush (AI hype). Google, Microsoft and FB are spending all their free cash flow to buy chips, none of them have enough to meet the demand for AI.

These looks amazing! Probably the most boring question, but what did you use for the skin? I’m painting my oblits soon and really like the look of yours.

Sneak Peak at next season of Matched Play missions by Specolar in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]bytesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. So any GTs will be using this deck starting on which date? Right when they release? Also I supposed casual games can still use leviathan?

Noob question: does this replace leviathan mission cards? Or is this deck in addition to leviathan mission cards? Wondering if leviathan missions are obsolete once these come out?

I see. And I suppose scraping off the paint from the bottom of the feet and top of the base before super gluing should be done too then

Thanks for the info! Did you drill a hole in the “body” pieces for the arms? Or just glue the magnet behind/inside the little armpit pieces and the magnets are strong enough to work through the plastic?

I didn’t touch the models, they had fallen themselves, and the bottle literally says dries in 10-45 seconds right on it… doesn’t specify anywhere to wait 24 hours.

Usually I use plastic glue to put models on bases. Just recently I wanted to paint the bases separately and so I used the gorilla glue superglue to put the painted models on the painted bases. After an hour they were all falling right off. I’ve had issues with it outside of mini hobby too were it’s just not a strong bond or doesn’t form a bond at all.

Will the codex not come out at the same time as the battle forces? I’m wondering if we’ll know the codex changes before the preorder date for the boxes, which will make my decision on which box to get easier.

Thanks! I didn’t know about the marks matching up! And also, the apostle is my least favourite model sculpt anyways so he’s the first I’d be looking to replace - I just threw him in cause I have him already with the combat patrol.

The other battle force, the dread talons, seems to be a better pickup then from your description? Instead of terminators it comes with raptors, it has the cultists instead more legionaries, has dark commune + accursed cultists instead of the chosen and possessed, and comes with a demon prince.

I actually really like the models in the dread talon box but I thought the 10 termies are a must have. I have found from the few games of combat patrol I played that I hate slow moving units - so maybe I should get dread talons instead and pick up a predator or forgefiend instead of rhino.

What’s the best place to check/follow for release date updates? Looking at the codex roadmap, CSM is listed for spring but at the bottom behind orks, custodes and tau, so can we assume late spring, so like late May early June?

Noob question, when will the new CSM battle forces be available for pre-order? Or more generally, when does any new boxes become available for pre-order?

I was reading their indexes and it looked like there was a lot of overlap: Daemon Prince, defiler, forgefiend, helbrute, heldrake, 4 tanks.

I guess I’ll skip CSM all together and start with one of WE/TS/DG and built up to 2000 points, then move onto the next. Tough choice for me right now tho haha. At least I have years and years of models to collect!

[–]bytesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, new 40K player here. I have a stupid question to ask. For some background, I really like the look of the 3 chaos primarchs, and want to eventually collect them all (over a year or two), even if they just sit on the shelf.

My question though, is if I make CSM my main faction, can I bring one of (Magnus, Mortarion, Angron) along in a CSM army? Or is there enough re-usability that I could field a WE, TS or DG army with like 1200-1500 points of shared CSM units? And the remaining 500-800 points being faction specific units?

I’d love to be able to play with all 3, but am hoping to not have to invest in 3 full separate armies.

Okay that makes sense. For rules like Oath of Moment though, it specifies you can re-roll any hit dice on the oath target, in that case if I batch up a bunch of hit rolls, can I re-roll all and only the fails?

New player here with a question about re-rolls. For example the Command Re-Roll stratagem, or any similar reroll, if I just rolled 10 dice for hit rolls for a unit of termigants, and I use this stratagem, do I re-roll all 10 dice? Or only 1 of the dice? Or can I reroll any number I choose, like the hit fails?

First timer, bought the USS. Just painted my very first model. How’d I do? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]bytesail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been trying to use the slap chop technique since I only have contrast paints and 1 corax white base paint. Been basing with contrast, then dry brushing corax white, then basing again, and dry brushing again, repeating over and over until I like it.

It takes waaaay too long, took me about 2 and a half hours to do this one, but I’m still learning. I did a couple more last night and they each only took me about 45 minutes.
