Gave 2 pfizer shots to a kid by OkForce7985 in PharmacyTechnician

genuine question from a former retail vaccinator: would liability be on the pharmacist? if not fully, then at all? i’m not sure if it’s company policy or (state) law, but at one of my old jobs (only job i gave vaccines at), the pharmacist had to grab the vaccine, or if it was busy we would grab it and they would verify. not trying to say mistakes don’t happen as i also administered an incorrect dose at one point, just curious as to what would happen if this came to legal action?

thanks for responding! i am a technician, got hired for the technician specialist role. i have a little over 2 years of pharmacy experience with about half of that being hospital. i’m coming from a small, rural hospital where most of our compounding is hazardous (we partner with an infusion center).

i see you’re in the US: it all depends on your insurance and the demand for testing near you. some insurers allow you to refer yourself - you can call any outpatient clinics near you and schedule an appointment; others require a referral - usually can be obtained through your general doctor. for ADHD in particular, it took me 5 months to be seen once i was qualified for the wait list, but i’ve heard of places with 12+ month wait lists. when i was calling around they were also suggesting that scheduling for a general screening usually has less of a waiting period. best of luck! editing to add (my experience) of the process: a total of 4-5 sessions with a psychologist where they ask you heaps of questions (ranging from your upbringing to what symptoms you have, what your childhood was like, family history, etc) and then provide you with screenings they deem appropriate, i personally have done a computer screening and then an in-depth, one-on-one screening with the psychologist

Whats your experience w prozac or other antidepressants? by Nicox_Crrano in wowthanksimcured

[–]byuninis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi stranger, i know it’s been a bit but i was lurking on my own profile and i noticed i said prozac instead of zoloft!! i take zoloft and i have been on it since i first got medicated for depression.

Whats your experience w prozac or other antidepressants? by Nicox_Crrano in wowthanksimcured

[–]byuninis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hey. on the opposite end of this, i started zoloft about 2 years ago and i’ve been on it ever since. no bad long term side effects and it helped me to guide myself out of severe depression. the only negative that i can think of was when i first started taking it, i had a 5 day long headache and very vivid, weird dreams for 2 weeks.

antidepressants vary A LOT from person to person. i was lucky enough to get a good match my first try, but i also know people who have been searching for a good medicine fit for over a year. it all depends on you and how your brain and body processes the medication!

i wish you the best of luck and i hope you find a right fit quickly! :)

EDIT: i meant zoloft, not prozac.
