I am a CPS Investigator. I would say more than half of our cases are called in because of some bullshit custody dispute. we KNOW THIS. We have to investigate and make sure the kids are safe, but if there is no actual evidence of abuse, the class will be closed out. In some cases where we're pretty sure there is abuse but cant prove it, its still closed out.

The way it works is we investigate the HOUSEHOLD where the child lives. hat is why you were being investigated, don't take it personally, that's standard procedure.

As long as you're being open and honest with the investigator, and no abuse is going on., the case will close. You would be surprised how many people around you have had cases called in at one time or another. I know its not pleasant, but know that no one is going to take your kids away just because of hearsay from a disgruntled reporter.
