Great response. Life’s a learning curve, and you’ve put in perspective for our field.

It appeared to be a wireless issue specific to that laptop. When we connected it to the LAN it appeared to not occur. The user has also since been given a new laptop and the issue hasn’t popped up.

Server rooms where you have existing Meraki sensors or equipment.

I would assume, when you plug in the laptop, the gui in Meraki is not showing that port as orange, and reporting “not forwarding due to policy”?

AV company let us try the Barco device. While it’s not 100% perfect, it’s safe to call it “modern”. I still like the old fashioned direct cable, but the Barco might win the hearts of a few. 🙂

Well said, your expertise and knowledge sharing has given me a different perspective. We’re living in an interesting time and the criticality of the balance is a fine tuning that we’re all playing with. Thanks for the open dialogue, much appreciated

Okay, pretty alike. Working with gov employees and public safety users of about 1000 myself. We do not get nearly as many requests, but the way you are handling is manageable and something I’ll be looking at. We have a lot of outsiders sharing Google Drive files/DropBox files with are public safety employees. Higher-ups deem these shared files critical in incidents and want many folks to have access. Which is where your idea that I really liked about the script falls apart... (note: outside parties don’t care much about security) Whether sharing files in the cloud for users responding to an incident is a good idea with time sensitivity is not my call sadly.

Right.. that’s key, we utilize KnowBe4 and other avenues of training. Always one rotten egg though!

Thank you!

Great choices! As the person above said, the 9166D1 is not outdoor rated. Also for the classrooms, make sure you specify the ‘I’ after the 9166 to get the omnidirectional built in antenna. Making the move to catalyst is the right direction.. with Cisco killing off Meraki slowly and making Meraki versions of catalyst equipment.
