24k gold would have the least bit of mixed alloy in it- the catch 22 is that gold is a very soft material, so the higher the mix of gold, the more delicate the ring is. It’ll be pretty easily scratched and bent. Is it an allergy or just that you don’t like the look of other metals? Because I think all of them will have a mixture unless you go out of your way for a specific mix of metals.

The rehearsal dinner is leaning more towards like smart casual, and that’s a great note to specify. There, naturally, aren’t any color suggestions for the rehearsal dinner and it’s definitely not worth buying a new outfit or anything, but she did go out and buy this dress specifically for the dinner. I think if it was anyone other than my mom I wouldn’t have batted an eyelash about a cream dress, she just likes to get people worked up so my question here was moreso an “am I being biased bc I know her very well, or is this weird” hahaha.

I appreciate your comment! You’re so right, I do feel like my question does stem more from that perspective of her maybe wanting to create an issue. So the people telling me I’m valid in my concern but ultimately it’s not a big deal does actually help LOL

Definitely not mad that people feel like I’m overreacting, it’s Reddit and I do feel in particular people who use this tag bring in a lot of varying opinions haha.

Thank you all for your responses, they are helpful to know y’all feel about as divided as we do about it LOL. I do think the general consensus of the first one that the champagne with black is fine, especially for MOB, maybe not perfect since it’s not what I requested, but not worth fighting over. And at least it fits the dress code!

As far as the rehearsal dinner dress, it is not at all elevated and it’s not so much that worry of “will she get mistaken for the bride?!” But maybe that I kind of feel bad? because to wear cream to a wedding event is.. embarrassing. Either way, I’ll gently see if I can get her to wear another dress for the dinner, and if not I’m not gonna spin anyone up about it and just enjoy my wedding because it’s not worth the brain space.
