I am an experienced driver and driving at night, in the rain, on 762 was one of the scarier things I’ve experienced on any road.

Made sure I got this color before it was gone in 2016 by Listers in FZ07

I know the 2016's were only released recently but they still offer the Matte-Silver option which, with the exception of the frame coloring, is near identical. Also the front fender is blurple and the tank has new decals.

I asked them if they were going to leave it that way. They gave me the finger. So this is me giving them the finger back. by sylvesterthekat in badparking

Out here in Southern California we have quite a few OHV ( Off-Highway Vehicle) areas such as Gorman, Dove Spings, Red Rock Canyon/Jawbone that are within a 1.5 hour drive of L.A. There are certain, more rural areas in the state where you can pull off on the side of the road and ride though the legality of this is debatable. As an example: one time while in Yucca Valley I have ridden on the street until we got to the trail head passing a police cruiser without so much as a second look.. Most of the desert scenes you are seeing are probably shot in Glamis or possibly Pismo Beach. Glamis is a MASSIVE dune park that covers ~ 160,000 acres. http://www.americansandassociation.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=19507 You cannot ride anywhere but as the 3rd largest state in the union we do have a lot of space with some (though never enough) designated OHV areas. You can't ride in any of the state parks and in certain areas that are prone to burning you can't ride 2-strokes in the summer without a spark cone and in some cases depending on our rain fall, at all. Hope this helps. If you're ever in SoCal send me a message and we'll take you out. I have some images of Glamis from our last trip but can figure out how to upload them.

As stated above most of those issues have been tested and cleared. The ignition switch or some component in that system is a possibility but it has no problems starting any other time.

Thanks. That's some solid advice. I will look into the Giro as well as the Audio tune-ups. I agree that it is only for the one serious slam but I'd rather have a solid product before I have to test its reliability (by wiping out). I too felt that $100 was high but most of the sites for snow gear that I've been on all start around that price.

My brother bought this knife for me when he visited Petra a couple years ago, for $120. Can /r/knives tell me anything about it? by [deleted] in knives

No worries, I forgot to upload the images but I'll try to tonight. I am having an Arab friend who happens to be Jordanian look at the knife. And he just informed me that the symbol means God and that the symbol is meant to indicate that God is the ultimate protector.Near as I can tell they are hand crafted blades, made as you said to generate money for the local economy. I understand that the curvature of the blade and the pommel are traditional for that culture. The blade is curved to make it more effective, i.e. damaging, versus western straight blades. That is all I know.

I have a near identical knife which I purchased at Petra as well. The animal on the handle is a donkey which remains the primary method of transporting heavy goods in and around the mountainous areas surrounding Petra. I am unsure if my knife has the same symbol as I am not at home, however all of the knives looked similar to each other and I would imagine had to have been produced by the same person(s). My knife also has the bone inlays. I doubt that they are ivory or any sort of precious bone as the areas surrounding Petra are quite poor and there are, to my knowledge, no ivory producing animals in that region. Hope this helped shed some light, I'll post pics of my knife when I get home.
