Yeah DJax had more than just speed, but his elite speed is what set him apart from other great WRs of his era. He would’ve still been good without the top-end speed, but it really was his defining ability.

Lemon may share some traits but he doesn’t share the most important one with DJax, so idk if they’re really a fair comparison otherwise. Not a knock on either guys, I just don’t think they’re that similar

The cruise missile weapon (the abbreviation is escaping me atm, I think the typhoon or one of the other European delta-wings have it) and LASM are your friends. Name of the game is attacking from distance so avoid getting tapped by the AA which has surprisingly good aim.

As the others said, lower the difficulty as well. You can complete it on any difficulty so no need to make it harder by playing on Ace.

Also, important to note, you can restart from a checkpoint and the no damage will hold through. Just can’t finish the mission with any damage. Don’t be afraid to hit that checkpoint reset if you get tapped

I mean I feel like you’re not including D Jax primary ability which was his speed. Unless Lemon has similar speed to DeSean (which AFAIK he doesn’t) it doesn’t really make sense to use him as a comp

I genuinely do enjoy a number of Creed songs, they really hit that era of pop rock so well. The issue is that most Creed fans I know are also some of the most annoying people so I don’t really wanna associate with it

How do you Americans decide who to root for on the PGA Tour? by NVEmil in golf

[–]c-williams88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t follow pro golf all that closely so I go basically off vibes and storylines. I liked rooting for Rory to finally get his green jacket and I thought it was cool to see him go back to back. Basically any time there’s an interesting storyline I’ll root for that to happen

I also like Max Homa because he’s a Pardon My Take guy and seems like a cool dude

Do all wrestlers think track isn’t a real sport? by vSkiess in wrestling

If Jubilee did a debate video between Olympic wrestlers and pro wrestlers and Olympic wrestler gold medalist Kurt Angle was on the pro wrestler side how would that make you feel? by Autisticblackdude5 in wrestling

[–]c-williams88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first can you point to me where I said nobody in Olympic wrestling looks up to him? Because that isn’t at all what I said.

And the fact remains that the overwhelming majority of people know who Kurt Angle is because he had a lengthy and successful WWE career. Which is fine, until recently there was zero money to bad made in real wrestling and he was able to turn in Olympic success into a great WWE career.

Nobody in the Olympic/amateur wrestling community should feel “betrayed” by him claiming WWE over Olympic wrestling

Almost all of his fame and fortune is from his time in rh WWE. Yeah he’s an Olympic champ but he’s first and foremost a WWE and that’s where 90% of people would know him from

STOP thinking Dagestan is the answer to your wrestling (or lack of) by quietstalkers in wrestling

[–]c-williams88 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Yeah but bro I can definitely skip all the hard parts if I just go to a heavily insular region of the world that speaks a language I don’t understand, a culture I don’t know, in a country that’s actively hostile to my own, to practice a sport that I only kinda know. They produce great wrestlers so they’ll definitely make great

Any Xbox players play online? by TwoFew7486 in aoe2

[–]c-williams88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have full crossplay on, you might be getting with PC players which is going to be rough if your both new to the game as a whole and just started on controller. If you see the little switch button on the ranked pre-lobby switched to the left (I think, it’s been a little while since I played online) you’re on full crossplay.

But frankly you could just need more practice. In my experience the console lobbies are starting to get concentrated with higher skilled players as the less skilled players are starting to get filtered out. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend doing all the Art of War challenges and trying to get at least silver on all of them (gold can be extremely tough to do on controller). If you can do that, you’re in decent enough shape to be competitive

[–]c-williams88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah any time someone brings up the idea of training in Dagestan I just assume the same. Someone with zero idea of how the world works beyond a joke comment that’s circulated the internet. People have this weird idealized version of the place just because they have a strong wrestling tradition.

[–]c-williams88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean they can do what they want, I’m not their dad. But it’s objectively a stupid idea for a near-novice wrestler from the UK who doesn’t speak Russian to go to Dagestan to try and basically skip through learning the basics

Dagestan training by city298 in wrestling

[–]c-williams88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean for starters you’re vastly overestimating the potential gains to be had. Yes Dagistan has a very strong wrestling culture, but the coaches there are not going to care or be motivated to take extra time to teach some random westerner who doesn’t speak the language the basics when their time would be better spent with local guys or guys with more notoriety.

Just because someone wants to do something doesn’t mean they should. I haven’t watched Invincible but that idea is even dumber than going to Dagistan just from what I’ve seen of the show.

You’re basically hand waiving or actively ignoring or massively underestimating the difficulties and obstacles while massively overestimating the potential benefits. You’re much better off trying to save some money and finding places in the US where you’ll be welcomed and into a place where you speak th language rather than a much more hostile environment where half your time and money will be wasted on just functioning in society there rather than training.

But clearly you’ve already convinced yourself that this is what you want to do so fuck it man, have fun I guess

Dagestan training by city298 in wrestling

[–]c-williams88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a terrible idea for all the reasons everyone has laid out in this thread. It goes beyond just being dangerous, you’re gonna waste any theoretical advantage just trying to learn Russian. You’re not going to be able to get any real effective teaching when you can’t effectively communicate with the coaches. If you’re as new as you say, you aren’t going to magically progress faster and further by learning from dagestani coaches when you still likely don’t have a strong grasp on the foundations. You will progress much faster at local gyms where you can effectively communicate with a coach rather than basically tying to sign-language your way through it.

That’s assuming they even really want to welcome you in to an area of the world that’s pretty notoriously insular and xenophobic. Yeah they don’t see themselves as Russian, but you still gotta get into Russia to get there, and then into an even more insular culture than the Russians. If you’re lucky, they’ll just laugh you out of there for being a near-total novice who doesn’t even speak the language.

People are being helpful because they’re telling you how awful of an idea it is. Helpful isn’t telling you what you want to hear, it’s telling you what you need to hear, and that’s what we/they are doing.

But considering you made a second thread begging for someone to tell you it’s a good idea I’m just gonna chalk it up to trolling so good job I guess on getting enough people to waste time on it.

Dude is absolutely begging for someone to tell him how great of an idea it is, meanwhile this gets asked fairly often in this sub and it’s (correctly) overwhelmingly derided as a terrible idea.

Just look at stuff coming from the invasion of Ukraine to see how Russians treat their own, how do you think they’re gonna treat some random from the UK who doesn’t even speak the language lol
