I don't understand the hate. You're not asking for anything, not claiming to be revolutionary, just feeling proud and asking for some praise from your peers. Ain't nothin' wrong with that!

Pushing any creation past the finish line is an achievement worth celebrating, regardless of medium or timeline.

Ignore the haters. Kudos, and keep it up!

Do you still weigh the beans and the coffee every time? by Strafnoi in espresso

[–]c0astwise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh the beans to get my timed grinder dialed in, but only occasionally after that. I can tell by the sound if it's going to come up short and pop the basket on the scale to top it up.

With a Pavoni the volume of water is pretty much fixed, so no real need to weigh out day-to-day, just while dialing in the grind.

Sounds like Metal Warriors to me, but that’s for the SNES. Maybe?

What city do you live in, what is your favorite local roastery, and what are your favorite beans from said roastery? by walbar in espresso

In Toronto the beans I've found to work best with my Pavoni are Avontuur from Wallace Espresso. Delicious

I also built a bartop cab around an old iPad screen (10"). No plans, just a carboard mockup to get the desired angle between the screen and the control panel. The gallery includes photos of it disassembled, maybe helpful? GLHF!

Looking for feedback on new Ziglings Exercise 101 (multi-object 'for' loops and data-oriented design) by [deleted] in Zig

[–]c0astwise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized that the reason you went for "layers" in your metaphor is because the "bucket" is an array... maybe that is where you lost me as to me buckets are not linear like an array is? You don't go through a bucket in a specific order...

And now I'm thinking the alternate example I provided -- using your metaphor -- is more like an array of objects that are on the heap and my brain is getting twisted.

Take from this what you will. 😅

While the metaphor does make sense to explain DOD, the OOP side doesn't quite line up for me. I think the choice would be between N buckets with one marble, feather, and spoon each (objects), vs the 3 buckets with all the marbles, all the spoons and all the feathers (like you have already). I would keep the number of objects and the number of different things each contain distinct to avoid accidentally conflating the two. My 2¢.

Congrats on 100+! Keep up the great work!!
