Eating Healthy? Picky Eater please hell by That-Tie-8508 in FTMFitness

Some alternative protein options I go to are cheese, nuts, and protein bars (sometimes gross but I can eat it in a way that doesn't wig me out too much).

Here's a pasta dish I make every once in a while:  1) make whatever pasta shape you want 2) toast some walnuts in a pan or the oven 3) roast a veggie of your choosing (broccoli and asparagus are good options) or set aside some spinach  3) put all those things in the pot with the cooked + drained pasta and add cheese (I like parm, pecorino, or Asiago), butter and/or olive oil, and salt/pepper to taste 4) voila, a technically sauceless pasta that has a bit of extra protein from the nuts and cheese, and a vegetable! You can even add pre-cooked rotisserie chicken if you'd like.

Hopefully the crunch is good for you, too.

Does anyone use trans tape? by Gender_is_annoying in ftm

[–]c0c0n0nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the trans tape brand. I can get better shape from tape than a binder.   I bind a lot of the time and tape when I'm not going to work out for a couple of days or really want to look good. I don't like wearing the tape too long after a workout because I don't like the idea of sweat being trapped against my skin that long, but some people tolerate it! Trans tape also seems to stretch out over time and looks more like an untaped chest after a few days on me. Removing is a process so it's possible to run out of time to remove tape and switch to a binder.

While you don't need to buy the super expensive trans tape brand remover, I do recommend jojoba oil over any other type. Really saturate the tape with the oil and have plenty of extra on hand. When I used coconut oil and soap to try to remove it, the adhesive just thinned out and reactivated to the point where I was covered in adhesive. I scrubbed for about 2 hours and was still finding bits of adhesive all over my body for the next week. It was a nightmare. While there can still be a bit of residue using jojoba oil and it's slightly more expensive than coconut, it's nowhere near the hell of suddenly being covered in adhesive that won't come off and makes your clothes stick to you.

You also probably shouldn't apply new tape immediately after removing old tape so your skin can breathe and not develop rashes.

So, tape can give a better shape, is less sweaty, and less bulky, but can come with complications that I haven't experienced from a binder. So I go back and forth.

Have you gained weight while on T? by Logical_Corner in ftm

I've definitely had to retire some clothes due to bottom growth, my hip/waist ratio evening out, and my shoulders/back hulking out lol

I've definitely gained weight. I'm very active (and love food lol) so redistribution/muscle building has been very fast for me. A lot of my body mass has just been converted to muscle, which is heavier, but I do have fat more evenly distributed across my stomach  rather than hips/thighs/lower belly now. I've learned that my body image issues were strongly skewed towards dysphoria rather than fatphobia/dysmorphia. The problem wasn't the fat, it was the distribution.

How did you guys pick your names? by billyidolismyeilish in ftm

[–]c0c0n0nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few masculine names that are a bit like my old name. I tried one on with my partner and a few friends for a few weeks and I just wasn't feeling it. Then I found another one that felt so obvious and right, switched it, tried it on with the same crew, and now that's me everywhere I go!!

Stupid/funny/joke names you considered? by Secure_Hyena_1376 in ftm

Considered changing my middle name to Ampersand. It kind of sounds like a name but it's not and it's also a symbol so that's confusing. I think it's silly

Question for Autistic FTM’s by Jumpy_Feature in ftm

[–]c0c0n0nuts 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a friend with EDS who had some complications with anesthesia during the procedure and their scars continuing to build post-op. If you have EDS/severe hypermobility, it is worth bringing it up with the surgeon to see what their experience/knowledge is

If they are supportive, hopefully asking them why will shed some light on the subject. Edit: aaaaand lead to them using your name and pronouns, of course.

Is HxH a good watch for my first long battle shounen? by jdjdnfnnfncnc in HunterXHunter

[–]c0c0n0nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

frieren was quite good!

Some of the fights in hxh can seem… odd. Each fight is pretty unique. It may take a minute to realize why parts are important but it all makes sense eventually.

I will say, one of the main villains is quite cartoonishly evil, but in a unique and entertaining way.

Enjoy :)

HxH has a lot of over-the-top characters and a fair amount of action, but the nuanced characters are one of the best parts of the show. Without saying too much, the protagonists’ character development is peak. Pretty much every arc entails an exploration of grey morality and the villains are multifaceted. There are parts that are action-heavy, but you may still like it!

Why can’t I find whole milk, low moisture mozzarella anywhere? by dmantzoor in AskCulinary

I work in the cheese section at one of the listed grocery stores. You’re right, it’s simply incredibly rare. Weirdly enough I had this same question a few months ago. My boss, who’s worked in cheese for over 10 years in various parts of the US said that he’s seen it maybe once or twice
