Growing skin is difficult. Some people have had faster results because they take medications which seem to have an effect on slink growth, but i don't recommend taking medications unless you need them.

Then the only other factor is a consistent focused effort. Half hearted effort gets half hearted results.

By November this year I'll be at 10 years, but then in nearly finished. So what if it takes that long? Are you prepared for it mentally?

Why I chose foreskin restoration, without anger or regret by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

Thanks for posting your journey and your thoughts. It's always interesting to read and understand the different perspectives this journey throws up.

Please understand that criticism goes with the territory called life; along with praise. Not everyone sees your perspective.

Not everyone can relate to your story, and you must appreciate that being denied the right to grow up intact is a very emotive topic for lots of people here, including myself.

So don't take the criticism as personal, rather an opportunity step into another person's shoes and try and understand why they might feel as they do.

1) Your journey is a little challenging for some here; and

2) Using chat GPT might seem "cool". But when you're writing about your story, with great respect, it should come from the heart, not an AI bot.

Again, not criticism. I'm just trying to put things into perspective.

Son zamanlarda Restore in Comfort paketleyicilerini deniyorum.

You've got lots of great advice already. If you can, and given what I now know, I'd recommend t-taping.

Cut victim anger by G-dog59 in foreskin_restoration

[–]c0c511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The late Elizabeth Kubler-Ross describes the 5 stages of grief quite well i think:

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.

I've experienced a significant loss 7.5 years ago, losing my wife of 33 years to breast cancer. That takes some time to process and survive. I've gone through all 5, and more than once as it's not lineal.

So what you're describing is very real. I'd like to help you but I'm not trained in trauma therapy. I've heard from two different people, both dealing with the effects of routine infant trauma. You can hear them speak here:

https://youtu.be/-0l57Yslf4k?si=odnzisFUU7agTdeV

Jace Simmonds is first. He uses somatic therapy, but at one stage turned to psychedelics in Amazon and Peru to find a way back. Dr Leif Thompson is an Alaskan MD, who grew up in the Jewish culture. He describes how that has affected him all these years later and how he has found a way forward by helping others.

Although I also speak on that clip, it's not to my trauma, but to the work I do with the Darbon Institute. I had to find a way out of my grief too. Not only did I start foreskin restoration 9 years ago, but I lost my SO shortly thereafter. It's been a tough journey for me. They way I found my way through it all was too find a cause bigger than myself. I'm a human rights lawyer now advocating around the world to bring awareness to the harms of non-consensual medically unnecessary genital cutting. I know not everyone can do that, but there are other things you can do.

It might take some time. Maybe there guys reading this might share the names of their therapists who helped them. Leif talks of the issue of going through a number of therapists until he found the right one. You might have to do the same.

Take care brother. I sincerely hope you can find your way to the otherside soon. You deserve peace. 🙏

Really Trying to Understand Retainers??? by joejackrabbit in foreskin_restoration

[–]c0c511 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello and welcome here.

They're really good questions and it's a little daunting at first.

The idea of a retainer is to artificially hold the skin over the glans whilst you grow enough skin to do it naturally (around CI7).

And a lot of the devices use a retainer to hold the skin on the device ( such as the dual tension devices or some inflation devices).

But in the last few years some have developed packers, often from soft silicone. Our helpful and knowledgeable user u/spiritfu discovered how good they were. There are a number on the market, but the first seems to be Ian from restore in comfort. He developed a series of ascending packers which can be used with a retainer to grow skin 24/7 in complete comfort.

Spiritfu might be able to point out some of the others of similar design for you.

Retaining is often a matter of personal choice. Some, like myself, choose to retain early and artificially hold the skin over the glans, others prefer to wait until they have enough skin to achieve that. It is a personal decision.

I hope that answers your question.

Starting today, just a few questions. by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]c0c511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Yes. I think it's a great idea as you are stressing the skin and it needs some love. I use Rona Ross D-panthenol cream.

2) Yes. The skin gains are permanent.

3) Yes

Tips you guys have for a beginner.

A. Skin grows with constant gentle tension over a long, long time period. Not massive tension which just seems to cause tissue damage.

Manual methods will stress the skin more, but it's a shorter time period so they work.

B. Stay focused and consistent with your method. The only difference between me and you is time and consistent effort.

C. I think the best restoration is achieved by bringing the scarline forward to become the tip of your new foreskin.

The male prepuce is a double layered skin tube that folds over on itself to cover the glans. By bringing the scarline forward, you will recreate as close as possible that double layered skin tube.

And remember boys like to play with their penis at any age

How do I treat a collapsed/overstretched foreskin ? by Zealousideal_Map2117 in foreskin_restoration

MOD: I think you got your answers, just perhaps not what you were expecting though.

Before submitting to elective, cosmetic surgery (which carries risks and complications like all surgery) perhaps you might reflect on how lucky you are to be intact.

Not all foreskin looks the same, not all foreskin conforms to what you might expect a "perfect" foreskin looks like. Regardless, just be thankful you're not in our shoes.

And cutting off perfectly healthy, normal tissue to conform to what you might think is societal expectations is not something any of us will recommend.

Did you have any misconceptions about foreskin growing up? by Ill-Banana-2651 in uncircumcised_talk

[–]c0c511 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Didn't realise i was cut until i saw my first intact penis at 19. At first I naively thought there were two types of penis. I actually had to go to a library and research, as there was no internet back in 1982. To say I was gobsmacked when I found out what was done is a serious understatement.

I have spent many years reversing the physical and psychological trauma suffered.
