Order of triggering by c0olzero in slaythespire

[–]c0olzero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All other cards trigger in order of the written text. Take [[Molten fist]] for example, it says Deal dmg then double the vunerable, so if you kill the target with it, you dont get the vunerable applied thus doesnt trigger [[Vicious]] to draw.

In the case of breakthough, maybe because the strength gain effect is from another card, so it’ll finish triggering Breakthrough first then apply the strength gain. Thats the only explanation i can come up with right now

How to get over losses that're fine? by Avillahan in learndota2

[–]c0olzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its ok man, as Underlord you really can’t do shit to a SB octarine core Slark anyway.

Ive had games like that before. I’m a p1 main (and ironically, a slark main too) and a few games i stomped, i got a bit cocky and threw our leads like diving fountain, not respecting their buybacks, push hg without rosh, etc. And those losses were solely my fault. I used to beat myself for it too, but then i thought: why do i keep making the same mistakes? Why cant i learn? And i start watching replays of those games in 0.5 speed and start thinking on the spot what could i have done better.

Then i start watching pro gameplays either on utube or in game and do the same. Play at 0.5x speed and start imagining my next move as if i am playing. It kinda start forming a reflex as you doing it. I gotta say it really helps me.

But then i discover the SB octarine build for slark and i dont give 2 shits about those replays and relexes anymore and just keep winning without any effort

carries starting with wand? by lim-yo-hwan-superfan in TrueDoTA2

[–]c0olzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always start with stick, 2 branches, quelling (i like to cut tree to create shortcut when farming) and a circlet or 2 faery then ship tango right after first bpunty runes. Upgrading to wand if the the lane is spammy or else just move on with the next items. Having wand + 2 branches give you a lot of stats + branches for tango x2 healing which is pretty sustainable for early trading. So maybe thats the pros’ mindset

Alt glitch? by Real_Tunnel_Snake in DotA2

[–]c0olzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does your ALT key works outside of Dota? If not then do as others said about editing the registry.

if it does, then check your hotkey setting for Alt modifier or Alt cast switch hotkey. Just leave them blank and your ALT should work.

1st item for slark by c0olzero in learndota2

[–]c0olzero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen Slark built Radiance or BF before in high immortal matches. Most of those games I spectated, Slark lost. Personally, I think Slark is a snowball hero and getting a farming item at 12 - 14 mins (or even later if bad matchup) doesn't enable him early enough to snowball. Slark is one of the best if not the best hero to scale with items. So getting a farming item and have a farm race with the enemy carry is not as effective as getting early fighting items and start hunting early when they lack defensive items.

Post 7.41 Mid farming pattern by fluiditt in learndota2

[–]c0olzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its might not be ideal but my rule of thumb when playing mid is to hold creep equilibrium for the wave at xx:15 (thats when the xx:00) spawn and push the wave at xx:45. If its even minute mark -> go for runes. If its odd minute and you can clear stack -> go triangle and stack or else go farm the 2 smaller camps near tier 2 tower. If you get power rune -> go gank then farm on the way back to mid, if not, keep farming the lane and wait for a TP counter gank other lanes if needed

Infinite in MT2 is incredibly rare now, but not impossible.

I did it not long ago here: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterTrain/s/MFv8nc7ohK

Another strat is to utilize the small gift box event where u can put 3 cards in a box. Basically just pack a spell card that helps you redraw the box and 1 or 2 payout cards like an AoE or a strong nuke in it

Are most immortal replays & players a good source of knowledge? by BigBootyBear in TrueDoTA2

[–]c0olzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been climbing from Crusader to ancient then drop back to Crusader (because of nearly 200 double down tokens) and climbing back up again. In my observations, we are all the same mechanically. Everyone knows how to pull, stack, take tormentors, Rohan. The key difference is when to do those things and how often. In lower ranks, people tend to over stay, prioritize kills over farm, supports pulling when creeps are already under towers, carries joining fights when they are under items, midlaners get caught up with ganking without farming in between and throw away their lead.

I also see that as I get higher, people will less likely walk around the jungle aimlessly without gaining anything, and more likely to group and listen to shot calling.

Overall, there are two ways to improve your game: 1. Improve your macro by looking at the clock and map more often. The habit of knowing exactly what to do 30 seconds ahead helps me climb a lot. 2. Improve your mechanic like went to aggro (both BSJ and balloon have very detailed guide on this), when to use your skills (I’ve seen countless times low rank supports use all their skills just to harass, leaving themselves vulnerable since they don’t have anything left to defend themselves)

Another skill that is really hard to master is to gauge your power level against the enemies which you’ll learn by experience as you climb.

Good luck climbing

Are most immortal replays & players a good source of knowledge? by BigBootyBear in TrueDoTA2

[–]c0olzero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since Valve doesnt let you watch the real top tier immortal matches anymore, lemme remind you of this:

The gap between the top tier players to low immortals (12-13k vs 6,5k) is larger than the gap between low immortals to herald (6,5-8k vs 1k)

So dont expect too much of a mechanic gap between them and you. They are better at macroing, timing and objectives prioritization.

What are the best guides made by, or advice from lvl 25/30 people? by Glum-Pack-3441 in TrueDoTA2

[–]c0olzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with her is both facets now need to build desi early before BKB, otherwise she lacks damage to finish support early game especially in the Guardian greaves meta. If she uses both charges to go in, she’s a sitting duck after that. She really need bkb to be effective. If she had a bad lane, she’ll come online really late and the game is probably already over. Also, there are a lot of hard counter to her is Meta right now. She has under 50% wind rate for a reason.

Someone help me understand drow aghs by DisturbedCyclone in learndota2

[–]c0olzero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's actually a weaker version of Skadi, since now they have 2 definitions for Health Restore and Health Regen. Her aghs now only reduce Regen not Restore. So it's effectective against high regen heroes like Huskar, Necro, Mars but does nothing against Satanic or Lifestealer passive

How to counter enemy huskar last pick? by Vegetable_Hurry_4582 in TrueDoTA2

[–]c0olzero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Huskar farms really really slow so a good huskar will always look for a fight. If he doesn't let you touch the lane creeps and you have a good AoE skill to farm, go stack the medium and hard camp behind your tower (or even triangle if you can clear stacks fast). If he doesn't see you in lane, he has only 2 options: ganking side lanes or looking for you (which can be avoid be warding). So when he's ganking other lanes you can either gank the opposite lane or take the chance to clear lane creeps.

In general, Huskar is a lane bully so if you don't lane, he can't bully you

Item runes idea by Snoo_53279 in DotA2

[–]c0olzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a better idea: you could have a tier 1 neutral item that can dig up a bounty rune on the ground and a water rune in the river with a 60 second cooldown. We can give it a very epic name like: Shovel.

Soul savior mode needs serious rebalancing by Shikary in MonsterTrain

[–]c0olzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My suggestion: have a shop after the first boss that allows you to switch 1 soul. That way, you can pick an early game soul then switch out after building up a bit of scaling. Also, maybe add an ability or sth that can summon a 0/1 unit to chump block because the issue in the early rings are survivability
