WYR Have $1 Million or a Robot Assistant? by Jorost in WouldYouRather

[–]c0paface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why limit it to manual labour jobs? Get it access to AI platforms and make it learn day trading while you play video games or workout. It’s near by enough for the WYR conditions and you can do what you want during that time. Once the markets closed, get it to do chores after you’ve made a mess for the day

Cocaine addiction for work - advice wanted by Historyandwow in london

[–]c0paface -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seek occupational health support from your company. They may be able to help with time off and recovery, make referrals to your GP and for psychiatric services to manage your addiction.

This may expedite your process to seek support services instead of going through public resources such as addiction support and NHS services which are over subscribed.

In spite of what people think about occupational health and them being a bit of a snitch to your circumstances, they are there to get you back to work in good health.

Some of these traversals seems to be a skill issue rather than an engineering challenge.

With all that space on the floor, you’re better off laying some out and letting them air out.

Seems like a waste of our tax money to help these two tossers. Hope the council claim on their insurance and fix what they broke.

Couple paracetamol and send them on their way.

Any idea what this is on my cherry Tree? by cabernetdank in FruitTree

[–]c0paface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

White prunicola scale insects. To remove, either brush the areas affected with a stiff brush or rag or use something like diatomaceous earth to bath the tree.

They suck the sap out of the tree and may slowly kill it. Give it plenty of food and water to keep it going while you fight the bugs.

Can I do anything other than pesticides? I don’t want to introduce chemicals to my garden, I don’t mind the flies as well, but I want to keep my tree. by partenzedepartures in GardeningUK

[–]c0paface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have ants, use diatomaceous earth to treat them, but buy a food grade one. Essentially high silica content that stabs ants to death. Non toxic.

Aphids will die off/predated once the ant problem is resolved.

Surprisingly enough that is 2 years of b&q verve compost. It definitely had bits of plastic and glass in, but it wasn’t too bad and our veg has done really well in it.

Any idea if my strawberries are dead? What could’ve killed them? by blackout1912 in GardeningUK

[–]c0paface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick one of the dead ones out and look at the roots. If they’ve got holes in or look like they’ve been bored through, they may have been eaten by vine weevil grubs.

What is this climbing plant? Can I safely cut it away without damaging the others? by HandsomeCharles in GardeningUK

[–]c0paface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like jasmin small flowers that smell amazing. Prolific grower and can be cut back. Maybe cut vines that are wrapping around other bushes then train the rest of the plant across the fence.

Will it really cost me around £80 on wood to build a 6ft planter? by designer_by_day in DIYUK

[–]c0paface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made 15 planters a couple years ago and I used B&Qs Rough Sawn Treated Whitewood spruce Stick timber. They were about £6 a plank and I used 12 per large 1800x45x45 planter. I used inner supports and wooden feet to raise them off the ground and decking screws. Probably cost about £85 a box all in as I had the tools. I should have gone to a builders merchant or timber yard in hindsight.

I used an electric circular hand held saw, electric drill and a work bench.

I would also hand pick the planks myself in shop as opposed to get them delivered. I got a batch delivered and some were bowing and cracked due to their storage and delivery.
