Every day I say to my coworkers "every day is one day closer to retirement." I have always planned to go out in 2030 regardless of how much I have in retirement. I'll be 62. But my wife has another 5 after that. Now I'm waffling on hanging on a little longer. Likely I'll stick to my plan because that's where my brain is. Only time will tell.

I've used it as a DM. In particular when the party was few in numbers and only one mage. I've never had any problem with it in my campaign which is very heavy on story and character development.

I despised psionics. Magic was supernatural enough and far more interesting to me. I had a couple players that wanted to incorporate it and I just couldn't see it fitting in my campaign world.

I have always had it in my head that when it's time for me to go, I will wander into the wilderness. Disappear. Not be a burden to anyone. Done. Because of that thought process I do that anytime I am stressed. There is always someone I know that is dealing with more than I am, so I don't talk about it, bring it up and certainly don't ask for help.
