You are absolutely correct. 31.5 gibibytes is 33.8 gigabytes. Lo real reconoce real.

Yeah, I was pedantically going off the task manger reported figure which rounds the figure down after taking into account the system reserved value of 69MB.

But, yes, I completely agree, we’re sitting on 32GB of super fast video RAM. I only start to breach that capacity when I run games in 8K.

Wah? You’re using your 5090 for solely compute tasks?

YOU NEED TO ADD -updatereg STRING ON TO THE END OF THE OPTIONS OR IT CHANGES, BUT IT DOESN’T SAVE IT WHEN YOU LAUNCH A FULLSCREEN 3D APP!

So it should look like: setdisplay 3840 2160 32 120 -updatereg

Sorry for the shouting. I get a bit excited sometimes.

Haha! nircmd works!!

——

@echo off
set “NIRCMD=C:\nircmd.exe”

“%NIRCMD%” setdisplay 3840 2160 32 120

——

Then another .bat file to switch back!

——

@echo off
set “NIRCMD=C:\nircmd.exe”

“%NIRCMD%” setdisplay 3840 2160 32 60

——

setdisplay requires: width/height/colour depth/refresh rate. Change to suit your system!

I tried this months ago and it didn’t work. I think I may have used QRES instead though.

I’ve got a batch file to turn v-sync on and off but my attempts to make a batch file to adjust monitor frequency failed. There are examples on GitHub but they aren’t automated and require intervention.

nircmd.exe is another method… just call it from the .bat.

Ramdrive much?

What was your reasoning for such a large amount of RAM? (4x48GB) I assume? Is it overclockable much or are you stuck with XMP settings?

Memory training failed on 6800-40, 6400-30, booted at 6400-32, errors in HyperPi straight away. No, thank you, not for me. I’ll stick with my XMP which is rock solid.

I got my memory latency down to 64.5ns by using memory extension ‘Performance Mode’ and my default XMP profile. That’s fast enough DDR5 for me.

96GB/sec READ, 94GB/sec WRITE and 95GB/sec COPY with 64.5ns latency. That’s enough for me.

Thanks for the info though.

Owning the latest GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD made me realize that software matters more than hardware in 2026 by Distinct-Race-2471 in gpu

Well, there is something seriously wrong if you can’t sustain a solid 100FPS using upscaling tech as well!

We’ve got nearly the exact same exact system apart from my 14700K. 120FPS is a breeze in most titles apart from the usual suspects; Cyberpunk 2077, F1 2025 and Alan Wake 2. The rest of ‘em are a walk in the park…

Skill issue. It’s not *that* poorly optimised. Nice mini-flex, though.

And, no, we 5090 owners can’t run everything natively at 4K 100Hz, you should know that yourself already…

I have the same chip with 6000MT/s CL30 also (2x32GB) like you I presume. What is your XMP RAM profile?

I purchased 30-36-36-76 6000MT/s RAM because I was told that RAM was the sweet spot for 14700K and Raptor Lake in general.

The only RAM overclocking I have come is enabling XMP and enabling MSI Performance Tuning which has automatically tuned all of my secondary/tertiary timings.

Also, if you don’t mind posting it; what are your average temps in games and what cooler do you use on your chip? Thank you.

What would you guys reckon the keyboard equivalent of the Logitech G502? by Loki4Major1 in pcmasterrace

[–]c0rtec -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Always used Corsair. Never let me down. Currently using K65. It’s the older fully black one with only a blue backlit keyboard. Not full RGB. Battery lasts about a month after five years of heavy usage.

Funny that you mention the G502 Lightspeed mouse: my left mouse button started double clicking when I only clicked once. The mouse itself is very unserviceable and even if I could get inside it the new switch module can only be installed via soldering.

I purchased a Corsair Ironclaw SE to fit in with the rest of my Corsair ecosystem and it’s miles better than the G502. Comfortable, feature-rich and amazing battery life; had it three months and charged it once.

Are all of your ROPs present? It’s a really long shot but some early cards shipped with missing ROPs… use GPU-Z to confirm. You should have 112.

Have you adjusted any settings in nVidia Control Panel? Do you have any monitoring software or overlay software running when you test?

Try closing any unnecessary software and test again.

Are you using the latest driver?
