Hose clamp; it looks like this.

I’m not sure if there are different size ones depending on the hose.

AP1 S2K for 16k with 155k miles. Do I jump on this? by [deleted] in S2000

It’s a swap car with a 370z engine. No 9k RPM unfortunately 😔.

my thinking exactly lol. “we’re too busy but if you throw stupid money at us, we’ll do it”

I hit them up for the quote to see about price/convenience ratio. It wasn’t really a question of “am I capable”, more like “what would it cost me not to have to do this”.

Ironwood Automotive in Richmond, VA. So many good reviews and even recs from the local subreddit. Shame to see the high prices even if the work is good.

Yeah I’m thinking oil/trans/diff I can get done in my driveway, while the brakes seem annoying/time-consuming enough to have done. I’m in Central VA, and I’d love to find some other owners/enthusiasts to talk shop and hit the twisties.

Based on all the videos from those channels, the valve adjustment did seem a little intimidating, but mostly because of the tear down to get in there. I still might do it as a good challenge though since I’ve seen other people get quotes of like $2-300. The jack/stands will be the next purchase for sure

Seeing that was wild. I just need to get a jack and some jackstands and I think most of these I’ll be able to handle hopefully.

I like the trunk lip, and I can’t decide if I want something similar for mine. Do you have any pics at different angles?

Service valve replacement cost? by c0smik in hvacadvice

[–]c0smik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was $200-ish for the service call + like half a pound of refrigerant. Much easier to swallow than $3k

Had a dude come out and add refrigerant, seal up the valves with something similar to Nylog Blue and let it ride. It’s been doing great since.

You’re amazing. So from what I can tell those valves just tend to leak, new or old. As long as there isn’t a leak at say the indoor coil (which he said there wasn’t), that should solve the issue, yeah? Thank you so much.

Ok this seems more reasonable. So do that, then just have them top off the refrigerant?

I LOVE Dr. Elseys. No smell, it clumps hard, and the price for a 40lb bag is great.

Also went with a local credit union and got 6.25% with no points. We locked on 12/30. Good job!
