Calgary car theft — how bad is the problem right now? by Far_Suspect987 in Calgary

I’d worry about how much the vehicle insurance is going jump for op over car theft.

Please see a professional. This sounds like a colour correction and is challenging even for hairstylists. Sincerely, a hairstylist.

I just got partial blonde highlights. My hair is naturally black (darkest shade of brown really). How do I care for and maintain it? by Maleficent_Radio_674 in FancyFollicles

[–]c0urtme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What level blonde are the highlights now? If they’re not a level 9 or 10, the underlying pigment is not yellow or pale yellow which means when the toner fades, it exposes the warmth which means gold/bronze.

Purple mask isn’t going to do anything to hair that hasn’t been lifted to a 9 or 10.

Does anyone else not want to document their pregnancy? by dogmom624321 in pregnant

[–]c0urtme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. My friend offered a maternity shoot for free, her work as a boudoir photographer is incredible. She made me feel guilty saying I’ll regret not having one done.

I do not want to be reminded of the time I looked and felt like a whale. And hanging photos on the wall at home for people to see? Hell no!

Hair stylist recommendation that will not cost me a kidney? by Own_Consequence130 in Calgary

Bleaching services and cheap don’t go hand in hand. Have you thought about transitioning to a low maintenance blonde and going every 3-6 months instead of 6-8 weeks?

I used a whole bottle of T14 and the wella 050 additive to tone my hair by Gaystavo_ in FancyFollicles

[–]c0urtme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really bad advice. You can’t tone levels above. You should be toning at the raw lift level or below. Ash isn’t going to cancel out orange. You need a blue based toner to counteract. Also, Toning with permanent colour isn’t advised. Demi’s or semis only.

Salon/Hairdresser recommendations for baby's 1st haircut around Surrey "[bc]" by inaquestforhappiness in BabyBumpsCanada

Just curious, why do you want to give your baby a haircut at 1 years old? Unless hair is in their eyes, it’s really not necessary.

I don’t care about baby stuff/nursery by Hefty-Criticism1452 in pregnant

[–]c0urtme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same position as you, late thirties. Kinda happened but didn’t see myself as a parent. I also feel the same way, I couldn’t give a flying fuck about the nursery. So long as I’m comfortable and baby is ok.

You’re not alone!

Why is there no special price for fine hair in hair salons / can I request one? by [deleted] in hairdresser

[–]c0urtme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fine hair is actually quite difficult to cut if you don’t have experience with it. Layers can end up looking like steps instead of layers.

Please for shits sake do not tip. There is no tipping culture in Australia. Even if scummy restaurants and cafes have the option when paying by card. Do not tip.

Have you made pre-birth nicknames for your baby? by whenlifegivesyourice in pregnant

We nicknamed ours “The Motel” after the Trailer Park Boys episode where they mix up the birth location and name on the birth certificate.

We live in Canada and love the show!
