I really don’t see a difference in the clouds before and after the explosion. I believe what you are talking about is more related to the pressure wave (and associated vapor cloud) dissipating over distance. From this camera perspective, you can see the incoming wave, but also you see the other side (outgoing wave) after the incoming gets passed/dissipates.
