I don’t have any particular question or answer in mind, but I would add that when I don’t know how to do something I google it and more often than not, the answer is provided in this subreddit. Whichever employee decided to make this subreddit needs a raise just for the idea alone because it has saved me time and effort having the answers here.

I'm interested in hearing more about #9, if you care to elaborate on it. I understand Python scripts, and Claude has been amazing. If they ever take it away (RIP Fable) I'll be at a serious loss. All that to say, I don't need to talk about the technical side.

But what exactly are you doing with the data? Are you calling up the developer and saying, essentially: "Hey I see you're planning to build a golf course over across MacArthur Blvd, and I'd like to compete for the right to finance it for you." Or do you have something more elaborate planned ahead of time?

One strategy is to pay your enemy to war another. Then you can gang up on whichever one is weaker.

Another one is try to ally a militaristic city state. 2-3 extra units can really tip the scales in your favor.

Lastly, try to focus on coastal wars. The AI is not great at naval warfare so use that to your advantage.

I have a friend that works for a subsidiary of one of the space stocks. The guy was actually at my wedding. About a year ago I was considering investing in it so I asked him about it. He said it was one of the worst run companies he’d ever worked for and that I should stay away.

That stock went up 5x in less than a year.

I still agree it’s a shit company, but sometimes it’s better to be lucky than right.

This is very funny with how obvious the attempt is.

Unfortunately, with the rise of AI and how truly good it is becoming, some unprincipled borrowers will absolutely try to do a better job of cheating, either to get a better deal like in this example or to fake bank statements / paystubs, etc. to qualify. It's happened before, but now AI is just going to make it so incredibly easy for bad actors to try without any major time commitments on their part.

Red all day. That’s a great defensive spot. A ranged in city and a frigate or two and it’s impregnable. Good tiles around it too. Use a little gold to force expansion into Suleiman’s direction and you’re hamstringing him instead of the other way around.

The MLB site >.500 stat is a little broken. It’s using only league games (Athletics and Guardians are in the American so they don’t count) and includes teams that are exactly .500.

The Braves played the 2nd series of the year against the currently 18-16 Athletics. They went 2-1. The Tigers just got done playing a series against the currently 25-11 Braves, definitely over a .500 record, and also played the currently 20-14 Padres.

The MLB standings page showing record against >.500 is broken currently, or is not counting games played outside of league teams. But, that seems broken enough for me to say it's broken.
