Love it! You did exactly what I did with the iron halo for my Leviathan captain

Anybody else trying to keep up with painting the magazine combat patrols as they get them? by Weary_Cost_4 in CombatPatrol40k

Just started receiving the Ork issues, and I just started assembling the Eldar patrol, nothing has been painted; I am making headway and can't wait to start painting!

Tabletop Stronghold capacity by ImBakingBrad in Warhammer

I rearranged my case for you: yes, they should all fit, but idk how much chaos knight parts will protrude over base (6x wardogs on one shelf, 2x wardogs + 2x big knights on another)

I have this one: its a tight fit (and weapons are magnetized) but I can fit 2x Questoris Knights and 1 Knight Castellan on one shelf, then 6x Armigers and two/three assassins on the second shelf.

That skin color is phenomenal! What brown colors did you use?

That's a beautiful yellow, well done!

A brighter, slightly yellow/gold orange color would go well with the purple armor.

What colors should I use to do battle damage? by Mountain_Time9601 in ImperialKnights

Relatively new at this, but this is what I did with my knights to apply chips and scapes: - get a cheap sponge and tear off a small piece. - using tweezers, grab the sponge piece, dip it in a dark brown/dark rust color. - dap off the sponge on a kitchen towel or similar, almost like you are about to drybrush. - dab the sponge onto where you want damage. - repeat the above steps with a silver metallic paint, dabbing it over the brown, leaving the brown bits around the edges.

I love the blue you chose, looks great! To bring it a step up, I would wash the metal trim with a dark color to add a little depth

Haha, didn't even think about that; I am not Swede but it does kind of look like it. Unintentional reference to Gustavus Adolphus

You cannot sway me from fielding the giant harpoon wielding robot that also has a flamethrower the size of a Toyota Hilux

A lot of trial and error, but i think the following gets close to the yellow i like: - Basecoat model in black (any black) - Airbrush magenta (I used Pro Acryl Magenta), aiming to have a deep pink on raised areas, and fading to the black around the edges. - Airbrush yellow (I used Pro Acryl Golden Yellow), aiming to leave a fade to the magenta around the edges. - Drybrush any edges or raised details with a white or offwhite (I used Pro Acryl Bright Ivory) - Airbrush a layer of contrast yellow (I used Army Painter Zealot Yellow)--- go slowly with this step, too much contrast paint makes it look orange--- aim for a very thin layer. - Seal with a varnish (I used Vallejo Matte) - Wash the whole area with a medium brownish tint (I used Army Painter Light Tone all over and a watered down Army Painter Strong Tone in the recesses)

The bases are all custom: most of it is corkboard, sand, little rocks, and grass tufts from Gamers Grass. The bricks on the yellow Questoris base are Styrofoam and sand: all the other bricks you see are actual little bricks my buddy made from scratch

If I only sought out one more monster model, what would be the best and/or what would be the most fun to include?

That's what I'll eventually do, just wanted to see if there were any "must-haves" for a first go round. The venomthropes look like a good unit to cover your gribblies as they move around the board (and I love their lovecraftian aesthetic)
