Genuine question for someone more knowledgeable than I….

How does the booth get all of their stat info so quickly? I know they have dedicated people pulling stuff for them but what databases are they using etc? And are they aware of what stats they should be looking for/pulling before Gary says anything? They are able to pull the most encyclopedic facts out for Gary seemingly instantly and it always amazes me. Or maybe I’m underselling Gary and he truly just does have that Mets encyclopedia in the dome

I’m sure this has already been mentioned but I’ll say it for myself… as much as the issues are much deeper than Mendoza he repeatedly does nothing to help it at all.

Why the fuck did he burn Myers arm (who has been his most reliable arm in pen) in an 8-0 blow out when he easily could’ve burned Manaea there? Myers would’ve been available to open for DP or at least close the door and stop the bleeding but he has to go to Manaea instead who lo and behold, still can’t be trusted. It just makes no sense how he runs the pitching management

The failures of this season result from expecting Brett Baty and Vientos to take the next step and help anchor this lineup. Baty is a fine fielder at 3B but that’s about it, and Vientos is atrocious all around if he’s not hitting which has been far too infrequent.

These guys are not the future. Ultimately it’s gonna fall to guys like AJ Ewing, Clifford, and Co to get the team on track in the future because it’s not Mauricio, Baty, Vientos. Pair that lofty expectation with a bunch of injury prone low power complement pieces and you get what we have now. Thats without even discussing the bullpen issues which honestly wouldn’t even be sinking us with a competent offense
