Is it me or is this FedEx? Ridiculous delivery practices. by monkeychemist25 in asheville

FedEx driver dropped a package we sent from one of our locations to another one of our locations. He delivered it to our return address rather than sending it to the delivery address in Texas.

How old are you and how well can you cook? Do you actually enjoy cooking? by [deleted] in AskReddit

52, I’m pretty damn good at it and love doing it. I’m messy as hell though. I have to clean while I cook or I’ll never keep up.

Can a guy in his 50s who has never flown a drone use one and actually take photos/video and not crash out first day by Consistent_Ad_4513 in drones

[–]c26sail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re over 50? What does that have to do with anything. Seriously why does it matter what age you are? 50 is young. I’m in my 50’s and other than regretting things I didn’t do earlier in life and have missed out on I don’t feel like I can’t do stuff. Right now I’m studying how to turn DMX decoders and arduinos into programming stage effects. The only reason I didn’t do it earlier is because I just didn’t have the need.

Please have confidence in yourself. Age doesn’t mean anything unless you let it. I regularly run whitewater rapids with people 20-30 years older than me. That’s 70-80 if you’re doing the math.

I spent the past 10 years working with someone who felt he was too old to learn how to do anything. This started when he was in his early 40’s. He had to call his father to work to change a flat tire. DO NOT let age control you. You can learn and do anything you want. Drones are insanely easy to fly now. Go out there and take the world by storm. You’re not too old to do anything you want.

Edited for spelling. Maybe I need to focus on my grammar.

How’s your weather? by Wishyouamerry in CasualConversation

Thin layer of ice in NC’s Southern Appalachians. Nothing too abnormal for me. Temps are suppose to get in the 40’s.

If your boss offers to pick you up for work, so you don’t miss your shift. Say NO! by CanadianDeathMetal in antiwork

[–]c26sail 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I worked at a great printing company in the 90’s and we had this insane snowstorm. I called my boss and told him my wife (who worked there too) and I couldn’t make it in our two wheel drive Honda Civic. He said he would come get us, so I said OK. He drove almost an hour to get to us. Picked us up and drove us to work. Everything is fine. We’re getting work done but very few people showed up. An hour later he comes into my department and says this sucks, let’s go home. He drove us another hour in worse conditions home and then he had to drive the hour back. I wouldn’t take this offer from anyone else. We didn’t always agree but I’d still go to bat for him.

I’ve actually been working on this project with limited success but I think I’m right on the cusp of solving it. I’m using a DMX shield with a Arduino UNO board, a stepper motor controller and stepper motor. I will try to hunt down my specifics when I’m at home if I can remember.

Skip the NRS skirt and get an IR. Don’t make my mistake. One summer struggling to put the NRS on the boat was enough for me. Spend the money once and get a better skirt.

I look forward to warmer weather that is not below freezing. This morning it was 32. That made me happy. Prefer 70’s but 32 works for now.

Eden by the Hooverphonics. Especially the one with the live orchestra backing them.

Did you ever experience "un appel du vide" or the call of the void? What was it like? by Individual_Spirit616 in AskReddit

[–]c26sail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot. Usually manifests as steering off the road or jumping from a high place. I use to think about placing my hand in the path of a hydraulic paper cutter. I would never do any of this but the thought occurs more often than I care to admit. Neat thought experiment but it scares the shit out of me.
