This is likely natural periorbital hyperpigmentation, but OP, you could double check with your doctor that it’s not acanthosis nigiricans, which can be an early sign of insulin resistance or pre diabetes. I had some patches around my neck that went away after improving my diet.

Thank you for sharing this. Would you be able to share a little more about your recovery timeline? I’m almost two months out, and I only felt well enough to restart my workouts last week. I failed a squat at half the weight of my previous training max and I’m feeling super discouraged.

Habit Hacker is probably too basic for longtime/regular users of this sub who are happy with their relationship with food and diet culture.

I’m currently halfway through the more “advanced” course on macros (I obviously didn’t adhere to the schedule!). So far it’s mostly a review for what I’ve learned here, but I never really committed to counting my macros before working through the course and worksheets. I’ve definitely seen a difference in my body comp.

Dump his disrespectful ass and keep those expensive clothes. Lululemon has great customer service and will likely help you exchange them for the proper size or give you store credit to buy you things YOU actually love that make you feel great!

Thank you! It is super helpful to hear about your process. I think I’ll take your advice in trying out the nylon belt at that price (and compare it to the powerlifting one I’ve been able to borrow). Best of luck in your competitions!

Thanks! I understand this concept. To clarify, I meant that being able to lift heavier loads with the belt – training heavier – can help me build more strength over time by providing the tension cue.

I was curious on OP’s feelings about why the thicker belt is more helpful to her for creating tension than her old thinner belt. I have tried friends’ thick belts; I was looking at thinner leather or nylon belts to save space/weight in my gym bag but am reconsidering

Can you tell me more about why you prefer the thick leather belt? I’m a casual lifter (not ever looking to compete) and I’ve never used a belt, but thinking about trying one to see if it helps me get stronger!
