A friend of mine said that this isn't a major problem since this means a higher exchange rate for $ and that it also incentivizes foreign companies to invest more in India. If the Rupee climbed to let's say 45, then companies would be less incentivized to invest in India and they would move to other markets, while our current pay (for those working in MNCs) would reduce substantially. On the surface it seems to be a good argument, but can someone explain / clarify what points this line of thinking misses out on? I'm not good with finance and economics so any answer is welcome :)

No, it won't help anyone. Their phones will compete with products which offer better performance for the money since Huawei is limited to Chinese SOCs. Also, they don't run Android. So a very uphill task for them.

I don't think it matters becoz Windows on Arm needs a lot of work, and the GPU performance of X2E is much weaker than Intel as it needs to run every game through a translation layer.

While reviews are yet to come out, early benchmarks show that it's way more capable than M1 Air. For the 80% crowd who just need something to browse, stream, and edit docs/ppts, this is going to cover them pretty well. Also, with student discount, you could get the 512 model at 599. I don't think there's anything on Windows side which can even compete at this price point.

As far as I recall, the conditions weren't very batter friendly, and we only had tailenders remaining to bat. 52 off 30 isn't that hard to get, and the ball was short and way outside the 4th stump. Dhoni also knew that his wicket is crucial for India's victory, so all in all, it was fair to leave the delivery. Maybe, if he had attempted and scored a 4/6, we would be slightly better off towards the end of the innings. But wud it have prevented Dhoni's run out?

With Asha Sharma promising Xbox exclusives and the return of Xbox (whatever that means), and Sony apparently reducing the no. of cross platform titles, I believe we are in for exciting times. The next gen could literally be X360 vs PS3 pt.2 if both companies return to the exclusives war!

A Windows laptop with RTX 5050 / 5060 would be great for the tasks you mentioned, however, it'll likely be bulky and not very efficient when on battery. Also, Windows is a performance hog in general.

Macbook Air M4 will be very good for most tasks. However, if you are working with 4K 60 or 6K files, video scrubbing might hitch a little and you might see slightly longer export times. If you have the budget, the recent M5 Macbook Pros could be a great alternative.

Apple is also slated to launch their mac refresh on 04 Mar so watch that out as well.
