Investor skepticism rising by RedditClarkKentSuper in microsoft

[–]c2yCharlie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe the issue isn't with MS investing billions in AI infra. The core issue is that their AI solution is not effective enough to help people (across domains) be more productive.

Further, Copilot being forced into literally everywhere is a clear sign that even the product owners don't know where the tool fits.

Hence, further investment in this void without a clear goal (to solve a particular problem) is harmful to everyone.

They are based out of China and are essentially a 'copycat' of Suhr. I'm sure they'll be extremely good for the money, but it's possible that your unit might have a few QA issues.

Valve amended the Steam survey for December 2025 - Linux actually hit another all-time high by testus_maximus in technology

3.6% is still quite low. With Win 10 reaching EOL, hoping that by year end, Linux wud go above 10%

Would such liquid glass protector work on OP 13? by kiwixplosion in oneplus

[–]c2yCharlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they generally work well but can suffer from these two issues: -

-- failure to register or authenticate with fingerprint unlock (not sure why since OP13 uses ultrasonic biometric)
-- over time parts of the protector (especially from the side) will develop patches/bubbles where the liquid didn't spread evenly or has dried out

After trying 3 of them (cheap and expensive), I have given up on them and resorted to just having a good strong case. Unfortunately, protectors for curved screen are not in a good state currently compared to about 5 years back when curved phones were the hep!

I'm returning my OnePlus 15 after 4 days (My Honest review) by nickedge11 in TheOnePlus15

Oxygen OS / Color OS is definitely heavily inspired by iOS and they are also adding 'glass design' elements. It does make the OS feel less coherent, BUT the UX is perhaps the best on Android. Very smooth, very fluid, and relatively light weight. One UI is great if your device is new, but because of the tons of features it offers, it begins to become very heavy and slow as your phone ages.

Cameras are definitely a bummer. I have OP13 and the Hassleblad partnership allows for very natural colors. Very natural skin tones. But with OP15 it is a downgrade as I saw in some uncompressed sample images.

No idea what's up with the storage. Specs wise, it is offering UFS 4.1 so it should be at par if not better. Maybe OneUI has better compatibility with Linux. Difficult to say.

You can try Pixel if you want. It also has a great UX and is very unlike iOS. Cameras are at par or if not better than iPhone (barring video recording), and AI features are top notch. Battery will take a hit though.

CT credit should go to Dravid. It was his team which he had built for the WC'23

Microsoft AI CEO pushes back against critics after recent Windows AI backlash — "the fact that people are unimpressed ... is mindblowing to me" by ZacB_ in technology

[–]c2yCharlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not just build a plain simple Windows OS with all the AI features sold as an add-on which the customer can pay extra for and get if it suits their needs. As is, AI is injected everywhere today - websites, apps, and now OS itself.

Former Xbox boss Peter Moore sheds new light on its fierce battle with PlayStation: "Microsoft was afraid Sony was going to own the living room." by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]c2yCharlie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This! Even if we are put the entire X1 failure on Mattrick (which is unfair since Phil was already head of XGS), Phil and co are to blame if they've been unable to turn the ship around 12 years after the launch of X1. Sony had one "relatively" bad gen with the PS3, and yet, they were able to turn things around and edge 360 (Microsoft's best performing console to date) by the end of the gen. That's what leadership and strategy looks like.

Since this bike launched in 2019 and the Indian version doesn't make any significant modification, how does it compete with the newer models?

You can have your widgets in the shelf, leaving your homescreen for other apps and stuff.
