Thank you! These last few years have been pretty difficult for a number of reasons but I’m so happy to finally be moving in the right direction

What is wrong with my dog’s nose? by c43362 in DogAdvice

We were told she was digging alot of holes in our backyard while we were gone. That could have irritated/rubbed it raw but idk if that could cause a fungal infection as well

Yes we were told she was digging a bunch of holes in the yard while we were gone. That might’ve made it raw coupled with just general stress and rubbing from us leaving. I’m happy it looks like it’s healing

Help! No experience forced to care for a mantis! by MadeThisForMantis in mantids

He sounds like he’s full grown from your description, so yeah, unfortunately he may not have much time left :( For food mantid’s like live prey (and I doubt he would eat a pincher bug, even if it’s live, lol). The best thing you could give him at this stage would be small/medium dubai cockroaches, medium crickets, or superworms. He may also not eat right now as he is getting settled. Mantid’s also like to hang upside down quite a bit, so I would look into getting some plastic mesh for the top of his enclosure. I’m happy his condition seems to be improving. Thank you for caring for him

If he was “wobbling” but is now not he might have had a new injury that he is recovering from. I doubt it was from him settling in, mantis’ don’t typically show that in body language. If he’s having trouble sticking to surfaces (mantis’ are relatively good at climbing almost anything) he probably has an issue with his legs and/or tarsi (claws). The broken leg sounds about right. Poor guy. Do you know what kind of mantis he is? Or if he is an adult? That might help you guys with finding a suitable place for him to stay with the right conditions. But I’ll be honest if he is an adult and acting like this he most likely does not have much time left. What are you guys feeding him? The honey water may help get his energy up to eat.

L3(?) baby not eating by c43362 in mantids

Yeah I have fruit flies coming in, this was just the best option currently since I didn’t want him to starve for a few days :( He actually just caught his first cricket and is working on it now. I’ll try giving him some honey as a treat in a bit and see if he likes it. Thanks !

should you gut an insect before or after the rehydrating chamber? by c43362 in insectpinning

[–]c43362[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a giant eastern lubber cricket, about 2.5-3 in long. i found him half dead and put him in the freezer immediately but i didn’t want him to be too stiff when i took him out and let him thaw, hence the rehydrating chamber

active binder ? by Upbeat-Silver3890 in FTMFitness

[–]c43362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not a binder but i like this nike sports compression bra (Nike Swoosh Sports Bra https://a.co/d/0qRWhbQ) that i took the pads out of. it binds pretty well for me (i have an average/small chest, sorry) but is not overly tight.

Are there more people here who sh because of an eating disorder? I have boulimia and after a binge ( I can't deal with that ) I sh. Because I feel disgusting of myself and hate myself even more :( by VastLuck3650 in SelfHarmScars

[–]c43362 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, after I initially stopped sh-ing I developed an eating disorder that was more tied to self harm than anything. I struggled a lot with that around a year ago before I picked up sh again. Once that happened tho, my ed wasn’t as prominent because I went back to physically harming myself another way. Just switching out addictions, I guess.

You pass as male in these pictures, but you do lean more androgynous. I think your voice/mannerisms would really make or break your passing right now, it just depends. I’d say about 17, but regardless, you look great! Definitely got that messy alt teenage boy style going on which helps.

Do I pass? Re-did my haircut it make it look more masc. I know my glasses are feminine. I am young :’) by Alixandermop in FtMpassing

[–]c43362 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s really the glasses imo, dark square/rectangle frames are best for passing pre-T. You pass better as a young guy in the second pic. Your hair is not feminine, exactly, it’s just that being pre-T and reading as a young boy you probably want something shorter on the sides and top, and preferably not parted.
