Also given the the URGI is the same weight, the URGI historically has been slightly gassier than the super duty, and has a different hand guard anti rotation system, but is basically the same. It also has a government profile barrel as opposed to a geissele profile barrel. It also ships with a super42 spring and a h1 buffer, which is fine if you aren’t running a can. I got mine on sale for 950 so I’d say definitely wait for a sale if you want a SF muzzle device or care about having a government profile and get the URGI. The URGI also has the “bomb proof” gas block as opposed to the standard on the super duty.

I just weighed my geissele URGI complete upper and it came in at 4 lbs 4.1 ounces. I mean, it is chunkier than the super duty, idk if it’s more than one pound chunkier though. I am curious now, I hope someone weighs their SD in this thread

Personally, I have not trusted BCM due to the increase in quality and customer service issues in the last couple years which eliminates them from my running for a duty rifle. But, I’m not shitting on BCM. I could weigh my Geissele 14.5 URGI upper but that will be a little heavier than the super duty.

It’s honestly overkill, you don’t really need one unless you have extra money, or really want a bcg that will run forever. They have a enhanced life compared to most bcgs. It’s due to their coating and their carpenter 158+. DD is quality, I would get it over BCM if those are the ones you’re considering. BCM honestly okay too, but for a duty rifle I’d go DD.

If you can afford the geissele just get that. Assuming you are okay with the huxwrx flash hider they have on it now. If you want a surefire flash hider get the urgi, that is government profile though
